So I thought if we did not fire Herman Edwards on Friday, it would not happen at all. That being said, I have a slow day at work tomorrow and would love some Chiefs coaching news for some excitement.

The question is:

What odds would you place on Herm losing his job Monday?????

My heart tells me 90 percent chance, but my mind says 10 percent chance he is fired.

All of his assistants are pretty much leaving.

There is no way in hell coaches are coming here on a 1-year deal.

Pioli knows this.

Herm is done.

Yep. My take as well. Not sure if it'll happen tomorrow, but I'd guess next week at some point.

i seriously doubt all these assistants would be free to get jobs all over the place if Herm was really gonna stay.

Herm is a our Rooney interview

That's pretty sound logic.

I fully expect to hear one way or another tomorrow. I can't forsee Pioli taking any more time to make his decision.

I will say Tuesday...a week after Pioli introduction. ...this gives us time to all freak and stress out on Monday because there is no news coming out of KC. (I know I am a n00b but I have been a lurker for a couple years) :)

I didn't expect a new hire over the weekend anyway. They're not making news on conference championship weekend. Not to mention that candidates for the job may have been coaching today (and could be coaching in two weeks).

I don't think it's exactly a state secret that Herm's not going to be here next year.

I know this is not really related to the topic, but the Rooney Rule was brought up. I'm conflicted on this one...I understand the Tomlin story and think it's great to see him do well where he might not have gotten the chance, but I'm not sure this rule is necessary.

Maybe I should say that the rule is not bad, but the implementation can be problematic. Does Leslie Frazier go into an interview thinking he could be the choice, or is he just the fulfillment of this rule? And if a guy like Pioli sees a guy he really likes, why does he have to go through the motions with others? I don't know if that makes sense, but it's always been a concern.

Is there a way to add a poll for everyday of this next week...and then ofcourse the dreaded "he's staying" option? I say Tuesday again.

Yes. That is why I am thinking they might do something tonight or tomorrow.

Good point. HERM will want a decision so he can pass out his resume at the unofficial job fair.

Is it a bad PR move to fire a black coach on MLK?

It will be even worse of a PR move to keep Herm and expect the fans to spend money at arrowhead...

There isnt one positive thing that would come if Herm came back for his final year....

It would set the franchise back another two years easily, and most likely cause irrepairable damage to players...

Slim to none and slim just left town. An organization as race conscious as the NFL isn't going to fire a black coach on Martin Luther King Day.

They've got nothing to lose by avoiding that angle from the press by waiting another day.

Just IMO, Pioli is working behind the scenes to ensure he has Shanahan in the bag so when he pulls the trigger and fires Herm... he can move quickly to name Shanahan the next head coach.

The Chiefs wouldn't be allowing large chunks of their coaching staff to leave for the same positions elsewhere if they were serious about keeping Herm.

Cant Pioli do better than the Rat?

I despise him and the way he cheated...

Deadspin on Herm Edwards (http://deadspin.com/5133634/another-nfl-coach-bites-itand-its-not-herm-edwards):

But seriously, how is Herm Edwards the only coach to not be fired this offseason? And he has a brand-new general manager, no less. I can only assume that Herm is an FBI plant, maintaining his position solely to gather intel on the drug trafficking scene in Kansas City. And that the Chiefs are in cahoots with the feds. And that's truly the least ridiculous reason I can fathom for that man still having a job.
