Did you pull this shit when they got rid of Ryan Leaf?

They are making this decision a year too late.

He's old, has a ton of miles and averaged less than 4 YPC last year.

It's time to move on.

I pegged you as a closet Chiefs fan anyways.

You don't think you're over-reacting a little? Or is this just a reason to root for your real favorite team until your closet favorite team gets rid of a GM you don't like?

To be honest, I became a major Chargers fan when they drafted LT

This year they let go of Lorenzo Neal, and had Jeromy Clary as their starting RT.

They put Jacob Hester/Mike Tolbert in there at FB. Thats 2 rookies.

He had 1 bad season. Get over it.

I didn't think it would be an remote possibility of him leaving, but why haven't the Chargers just come out and said that its all overblown and that he will be here next year?

The guy turned around the franchise, give him the common courtesy to tell him his job is safe, if it is.

AJ Smith won't admit he made a mistake by letting go of Lorenzo Neal, so he can go suck my balls if he now lets go of LT because of that.

Like I said, until hes gone (if they cut LT) I won't root for the Chargers.

Sorry.

I was pretty pissed when the Chiefs let Lloyd Burress go, and Albert Lewis, but I hung around.

LT has lost a step or three.

LT looked awfully good towards the end of the year. I wouldn't call him dead just yet.

I think he bounces back with a 1400 yd season next year. I realize that very few RBs really ever bounce back at 30 yrs old, but very few RBs have ever been as good as LT. Even if he loses a step and doesn't return to his old form, he's a 1200-1400 yrd guy.

Buck
01-23-2009, 01:17 PM
Well if I thought LT was done, I wouldn't be saying this.

But I don't think he is done at all.

Every elite player has one off year.

This is why getting a stud RB in today's NFL is not a wise idea. If you can get two solid RB's it keeps them healthy and productive. We have learned our lesson with LJ and it may be smart of us to eventually trade him off for what we can get and get some quality "team" guys in.

Pats fans hate him. That would be kinda like Shanny becoming the HC for Chiefs.

I'm not really a bandwagon fan. I've had season tickets since 2001, which happens to be the same year we got LT.

$1000 for season tickets this year. I'm pretty sure I'm going w/ the DirecTV route.

Not quite yet. I could just root for the Redskins, my 2nd favorite team, but my interest in them has been slowly deteriorating the last few years.

Remember when you had Priest and LJ? That was perfect.

I'm sure there was some conflict, but to have 2 RBs w/ that talent is amazing. Its almost like the Giants or Vikings have it now, but better.

Sure, if you can manage to have 2 of them who are sane, that's all well and good.

We had two of them who were both half crazy in their own special way. The end result was a whole bunch of pissed off people and still no defense.

You had the right setup when you had Tomlinson and Turner, a stud and another stud who just doesn't realize it yet. We had a bizarre loner and a whiney asshole. Not the way to do it.

Basileus777
01-23-2009, 02:13 PM
Are you a fan of the team or the player? Tomlinson isn't what he was. The past is the past, the NFL is a business and aged former-franchise players usually leave their teams. I think Tomlinson can still be a solid productive back, but he isn't worth 8 mil a year. If he isn't willing to take a pay cut or if someone offers good value for him, the Chargers should deal him. San Diego has an insane amount of players they need to resign in the next 2 years and they shouldn't hold their future back because of an expendable running back.

Randy Moss never cried to the media about how the Pats have no class and how they get that from their head coach.

What happens with Mike Goff and the right side of that offensive line will impact that rushing offense more then who the tailback is. Ask these folks around here what happened when Will Shields retired. They all thought he sucked and was washed up until he was gone.

As for LT, I can go through all his film from the last 2 years and probably count the number of runs and catches on one hand he made that Sproles couldn't make. But I can probably go through any game this year Sproles played in and find at least 2 plays per game where he made plays that LT couldn't make. They're the same type of elusive back and one needs to go.
