Affliction/M-1 is on. Fedor is fighting Andre Arlovsky a former UFC champ and a very good fighter. Arlovsky was once the poster boy of the UFC but a tough loss and a falling out with the boss has landed him elsewhere. Just missed Vitor Belfor...lasted about 30 seconds. 2 fights till Fedor.

Where is it? PPV only?

Yeah, PPV. I had a "free" link but it died. justin.tv has several places to find the fight.

My $$$ is on Fedor; something has happened to Arlovsky. He is not as aggressive as he once was, and does not finish like he used to 4-5 years ago.

True but he does have the tools that potentially could give Fedor some trouble. He has a great combination of speed/athleticism and size. Could be a good fight.

Yup, no doubt. Arlovsky has all the tools; unbelievable power, quickness, and superb endurance. Something just stopped for him, though. I couldnt put my finger on it, but IMO it seems to have started when he lost to Tim Sylvia by KO in 2006. I'm off a little on my timeline of his relative decline.

But, even if he loses but fights very well tonight by going the distance it will bolster his cred. Fedor just seems too much for him.

Arlovsky has won 5 straight since the loss, his last fight was boring to watch but he was smart and won. Fedor has been beat before and it will happen again some day. Arlovsky could do it tonite....or not. ;)

Fedor's mostly scarey b/c he seems like an average joe (body shape wise) and that mofo is MAD QUICK. his speed and the fact that he hits like a truck.... all i know is this should be a good fight. Fedor needs to watch out b/c Andre w/ beard is a BAD @$$

Agree. I also think Dana White kind of torpedoed Arlovsky's career for whatever reason. When he came on the scene, I thought "holy sh*t, this guy is going to smash everyone"

But, there we have it. Over in a heartbeat- Arlovsky just got dropped...

i disagree, 9 out of 10 times that wont happen. people have to defend the flying knee or dodge it. fedor dominates and minus the CC bout usually never has to go the distance. AA wanted to overwhelm with speed and combo's. i like the plan, it just wasnt in his cards tonight.

Fedor needs to leave Jr Varsity and come over to the UFC.

I'd like to see what he'd do against a much larger, quicker, stronger & more athletic Brock Lesnar.

Right. Arlovsky was looking great with his speed..
So the flying knee was totally unnecessary following his straight kick that knocked Fedor against the ropes.
Watch the replay again, Arlovsky barely got off the ground before Fedor's arm was in motion for the kill shot.

Just because I'm a big UFC fan, and he's clearly the best.

He's the Anderson Silva of the HW division.

Another thing I like about Fedor...

You don't see him out there trying to promote himself. He's very humble, and understated.

He just goes about his business. (Which happens to be kicking people's asses... and he's insanely good at it.)

BJ's just nasty all around, though. Stand-up, on the ground...

The dude is insanely talented.

I think I'm rooting for him mainly because GSP's like the flavor of the month. I don't really dislike the guy.

I just really think BJ has the better skill set. The dude can do it all... and do it all well.

In any case, it's gonna be a hell of a fight.

Anyone who thinks that lesnar could even come close to hanging with fedor Is a fool, lesnar is big, but way to bulky he is also very slow and gets worn out to fast , his technique is subpar at best, fedor would wear him out very quickly and would totally embarass him, not to mention fedor is the most vicious ground and pounder there is

Yes. That man can take a beating like no one else in the world. I used to be an avid fan of Pride before the fucking bush league UFC put them out of business and Nogueira would always get pounded but the shit wouldn't faze him, he'd still choke a motherfucker out with his sublime BJJ skills. Oh, Pride, how I miss thee!

She's a famous actress who became a big Nog fan. They had her guest commentating on the Japanese broadcast for Fedor vs Nog I. Needless to say, it provided one of the most memorable non-fighting moments in Pride.

Pride will always be the biggest spectacle MMA has ever had. K-1 tries, but nothing has beaten the energy and buzz as the first Grand Prix and Shockwave events. UFC in it's wildest dreams could never get a live gate of 100,000 people like Shockwave did.
