As QB coach in KC.

Any mother fucker than can get Kitna to throw for over 4k yards, IN A LIONS UNI, is a god of a position coach in my book. (he was the OC/QB coach in Detroit)

SIGN HIM NOW!!!!

Mike Martz caught the league off guard in 1999. They were not prepared for his offensive schemes.

Mike Martz is not the type of coach I want. I want a coach like Gailey. A coach that adapts to what he has, not one that has a useless scheme if the HOF Left tackle goes down.

If you look at the Chiefs and Rams under that scheme.... they were both ineffective without a HOF LT.

Prior to Roaf and after his injury, the Chiefs offense was not nearly as productive.

And, when Pace was banged up with Martz in St. Louis, the Rams struggled.

Saunders and Martz are scheme guys. I want guys who can adapt.

Did you read the title and skip over my actual post?

Martz at QB coach. He wont be calling an offense or leading a team from that position. He would just be teaching quarterbacks how to play the game.

Kitna's not that bad, and all his yardage is from constantly throwing the ball, rather than running a balanced attack. Keep that loser away from the Chiefs.

Say what you want about Mike Martz, but he was the primary reason Detoilet won 7 games last year and his subtraction has to be considered a reason for why they went 0-16 this year.

I would be in heaven with Todd Haley or Mike Shanahan as head coach and Mike Martz and Al Saunders on the offensive coaching staff

I can't hardly stand looking at the guy, but how could you go wrong with him as your QB coach. I would pull that trigger in a new york heart beat.

Is a New York heartbeat faster than a heart beat from someone, say, in Ohio?

Mike Martz is the Wyle E Coyote of NFL Coaches.
Send him to Detroit with Gunther.

I think the Bobby Knight interview on ESPN could hold some hidden clues.

He is friends with Dick LeBeau.

He thinks Dick LeBeau is a great coach.

He was a RED Raider.

He wore RED sweaters when he coached Indiana, and probably still owns a few.

The Chiefs home jersey is RED.

Both ketchup and catsup are RED.

Coincidence?

Mike Martz caught the league off guard in 1999. They were not prepared for his offensive schemes.

That offensive scheme has been around since Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow and the Chargers lit up the league way back when, so I don't think it was a surprise.

I just think the Rams caught lightning in a bottle with Warner, an all-world Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce in his prime, a young, exposive Torry Holt and arguably the best LT in the league, Orlando Pace.

I don't see Mike Martz going down to be a QB coach.

Dick LeBeau is 71 years old.

Plus, he had a miserable stint in Cincinnati.

My bad....

I thought this was the silly coaching speculation thread. I was getting ready to nominate Elvis Grbac for QB coach.

Can someone direct me to the complaints department? You oughtta see these shoes.

I doubt Martz would agree to be anything less than an Offensive Coordinator.
I'd certainly take him as our QB Coach though if he were willing.

Pay him like an OC and call him the Associate HC or OC / QB coach.

I don't care what title you give the man as long as his main job is to develop either Thigpen or whatever QB we draft in the future.

After years of Dick "Pet Rock" Curl, I want as close to a sure thing as there is at the QB Coach spot. Martz is that guy.

It's not like teams are lining up to hire him as offensive coordinator... so if he wants to work in the NFL next year he may have to accept what is given.
