...is tomorrow! My son will be signing his letter of intent to play football at the local junior college. I know it's not some prestigious four year university, but he represents the very first in our family to play collegiate sports.

...Anyone else have family signing their intent? :)

You know...I understand guys like Greg getting excited for his son, (Congrats btw) but I really don't get how the ordinary person gets all excited about a bunch of kids signing on to play for a college team. There's radio shows dedicated to today here in Huskerville.

I just don't get it.

I don't even get excited about the NFL draft really. I watch the first pick then go on with my day. I check ESPN or something like that after the draft to see who went where.

I miss the days of getting recruited. It was pretty fun even though I knew I wasnt going to play. I torn my labrum and knew I wouldnt be able to play again unless I had surgery.

Yeah he doesn't coach there anymore. One of my best friends in high school was skip's nephew so he also talked about him, good coach from what I understand.

He recruited me when he was at Dodge City. His knowledge was a big draw but I didn't care for the program they had there. He is pretty well known in the KC area and it was kinda of bragging rights to say Jared Powers wanted to talk to you...not up there with Butler or Baker but it was definitely up there. I was also recruited by Coffeyville, Highland and Fort Scott..I went with Fort Scott.

After coaching here in Coffeyville a few years in the nineties, getting a National Championship in "90" he went on to coach the Tulsa Talons.

Naw I have a 'health condition' that makes me a 'risk'. Fuck that I feel perfectly fine and I'm in great shape...just a little bullshit thing on paper. Just glad I didn't put everything on football or i'd be SOL

No, I had neither the talent nor the inclination to play collegiate sports. Track and Cross Country were my sports in high school.

He goes to Field Kindley in Coffeyville KS. His number actually changed to "71", his Freshman and Sophmore years it was "98".

Congrats, Greg. I'm a CCC alum but didn't play sports. There have been a bunch of good players go there. My favorite is Gary Busey.

Thanks buddy! :)

I'm a CCC alum also, what year did you graduate?

I thought his best role was in the Buddy Holly Story.

I thought Gary Busey went to Pitt State

I'm not sure where he went after CCC
