I just got an AIM message from someone I never heard of before. His AIM name is ryanrenew and he gave me this message:

(6:52:59 PM) ryanrenew: hi, check this sweet movie clip http://tinyurl.com/b65qc8

Then he logged off.

Can you upload a url on TinyUrl that would possibly give you a virus, or do you think this is safe?

I got the same one. He's been hacked. The URL itself won't infect you but the stuff on it will probably do so if you proceed further.

It goes to a fake youtube page which wants you to download a fake flashupgrade which is actually a ms-dos executable of some kind, most likely a virus.

I'm not sure about a TinyUrl giving you a virus. But I'm pretty sure a TinyEvel can.
