Going to commercial right now, and then he's on...

When going to commercial, they said one of the things they would be talking about was Crabtree

Don't think we will have to worry about that

He needs some follicles.

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:17 PM
Kind of surprised he is even doing an interview

KChiefs1
02-21-2009, 02:17 PM
wonder if they'll have Haley on too?

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:19 PM
said Haley was choice after watching him, saw leadership qualities in him, similar mentors, learned from a lot of the same people, very driven, similar personality traits, a kind of guy he can work with

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:20 PM
said he and Haley had conflict on decisions with Jets, but it was good conflict

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:20 PM
not looking to run this on his own, but wants to work with others on decisions

Kyle DeLexus

Already throwing Haley under the bus ROFL

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:21 PM
Asked about TG and LJ and he basically avoided both questions.

LJ signed a contract, and he's a Chief

Hehe, that was my thought as well. I bet he has the bus schedule memorized. :)

Asked about if we are looking QB in the draft, he said, "this is a 2-14 team. We need good players. We're looking for a lot of things."

Deberg_1990
02-21-2009, 02:23 PM
Said LJ was under contract and is a Chief.

Red flag on not performing

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:23 PM
combine is important because you get to see different things. Finding out medically where they're at. Will players choose to perform or will they not choose to perform

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:24 PM
asked if it irks him if players don't participate in the combine, he said, if you're good, why wouldn't you want to come out and perform

Kyle DeLexus
02-21-2009, 02:25 PM
Overall not a bad interview for knowing you won't get any info out of it

"You Say It Best When You Say Nothing At All".

Red flag on not performing

A strike against Stafford already.

doomy3
02-21-2009, 02:27 PM
It was weird that going to break before he came on, they said "Scott Pioli joins us next, and we'll get his thoughts on Michael Crabtree."

Then they didn't even ask him about him. Wonder if they were instructed not to...

CosmicPal
02-21-2009, 02:27 PM

Specifically, he was asked it like this, "So you have the 3rd pick in the draft, might you be in the market for a QB?"

To which he replied: "With the 3rd pick? Are you fucking crazy? Don't you know I drafted Tom fucking Brady in the 6th round? Moron!"

That's just a Tom Condon thing if you hire him as an agent and you are considered a top player he will tell you to do things like this Staffords doing what he's told.

I think a large number of these guys are quite obviously coached and scripted. That's what you had to love about Ryan last year, you could see and appreciate someone who sincerely felt like he was ready to get to work, not like he was owed something, or "protecting his value".

This has to be a boost for Sanchez in my opinion as well - though it sounds shakier and less likely all the time.

I thought he was great compared to what we've had as a GM for years. Very cool very personable. I laughed out loud when he made the comment about Todd not screwing it up. To make a joke like that two people have to be very comfortable with each other. It feels like something very good is about to happen around here.

Right. I can't believe anyone takes anything these guys say at face value, especially with free agency and the draft coming up.

Anyway, he's saying what a good GM should say, of course they should be promoting combine participation.

Do you always believe what you're told?

Of course he wants to appear like he's calling the shots. I guess at the end of the day he is calling the shots, but he's certainly acting on advice.

:spock:

Is there a reason you are being a dick? Mecca posted that Stafford's agent was the reason he didn't throw. I simply pointed out that Stafford said yesterday that it was 100% his decision. Mecca said something based on his own opinion, which wasn't based on anything other than Condon's past clients. I pointed out that Stafford said the opposite, and it came from his own mouth.

Yeah.

I don't think that Stafford's decision to skip participation will influence Pioli's decision when draft time comes if he's available.

That's because Pioli had the reporter's older brother flown in and had him sit in the audience so he could see him.

I'm just saying it's a waste of time believing anything your told. About any of it.

Further, the above two statements are in no way mutually exclusive. Of course it was ultimately the players decision, but was it influenced by his agent? Probably, given a) you don't hire an agent if you'e not planning on listening to him and b) condon's record.

why wouldn't he?

unless he thinks LJ will be a cancer in the locker room he will keep him

they lose money by cutting him
apparently nobody is willing to trade much for him

push comes to shove you can always just give the ball to LJ until he legs fall off and then kick the POS to the curb.
