For me it was eight years ago when we landed DV & Trent. Except Cassel is 3 years younger than Green was when we got him and DV only had one Superbowl win to Pioli's 3. Granted Pioli is a GM and not a HC, but you get the point.

We have a young owner, a young GM, a young head coach, a young QB. How can you not be excited?

In addition to be young they all appear to be vastly competent. I left that part out. Am I still a fucking idiot?

KC just became my second-favorite team in the NFL. Vrabel and Cassel are two of my favorite players, and I'm definitely going to make it a point to watch them whenever possible next season. I don't think it's unreasonable that the Chiefs could be competitive in the very near future.

I'm not even talking about the coach, owner or GM. I was just pointing out that you are an idiot. But yea maybe that makes you like 1% less idiot. Still an idiot.

I'm not any more or less excited than I was 5 hours ago. The trade doesn't really do anything for me, but I'm still pretty happy to have Pioli and Haley here.

Honestly, I'm about as excited today as I was in the moments after the road loss to the Cowboys in 2005.

I am cautiously optimistic and relieved we no longer have to deal with CP and Herm. If all else fails the team gets smarter and it is a hell of a lot better to be smart and fail rather then being dumb as a sack of rocks, be the laughing stock of everyone and fail.

confidence and hope are a powerful thing

we finally think the guy in charge might know what the hell he's doing and Hope that things will finally get better.

When Otis took that short pass to the house.

It's been all downhill since.

Maybe, just maybe, we might be starting to finally go uphill, but I'll wait to see.

2003 when we started 9-0.

This for during the season.

Getting Joe Montana for the off-season comparison.

So yah, It's pretty big stuff. I'm freaking happy as hell. :D

honestly? not that excited right now. I'm of two minds right now...

1) 'in pioli we trust'... he's brilliant, and he'll lead us to the promised land regardless of who our signal caller is.

2) goddammit, we're finally primed to snatch that glorious SOB who fucks the rest of the afc west in the ass year in and year out, and we pass up the opportunity to get new england's sloppy second backup, a system qb at best. FUCK.

look, I'm a chiefs fan. I'm used to disappointment. I've literally wept, tears flowing, after a few painful playoff losses. I've been through fucking awesome defenses (and a few memorable 6 and 7 sack performances by a certain OLB), and fucking awesome offenses (thanks for the memories, priest/trent/al/dick/roaf/et al)... I've never seen a chiefs team with both. I've lived through pretenders, non-contenders, and offenders (thank you, bam and tamarick). one thing is certain--mary, mother of god, could come down HERSELF from heaven, suck my dick and take shower anal with a bit of ass-to-mouth... and I'd be paranoid that jesus would walk in and bitch slap me for fucking his mama. it comes with that territory, optimism just doesn't exist for this chiefs fan anymore. as much as I want to believe in the pioli/pats magic, I've seen this show before. I'll get all excited, then the chiefs will bend over and fuck me in teh ass. I'm sick of my ass bleeding because of the chiefs, frankly. maybe a super bowl will heal it--maybe. it'd be nice to find out, eh?

a system qb at best.

If the system works, then what's the problem?
