More on the lines of the flavor of the offseason... Mitchell was all that anyone talked about in 1993/1994 (i think)...

I would love to see Cassel pan out and be a prowbowl QB next year and beyond... But as a fan of the NFL, I dont get excited about 7th round draft picks leading their second team to championships...

I think he is a good choice for the next 2-3 years while we are developing a 1st round QBoTF on the bench... Have him ready just in time for this team to move over the hump and go on a 5 year run at a championship...

He's married to Cassel solely because of time. I'm not suggesting Pioli would be fired solely because Cassel failed. I'm saying that, short of Cassel going down with an injury in the next 18 months and somebody else emerging (ala Brady in New England) they will be here over the same period of time.
