Madagascar, and it's sequel, really sucked. Easily the worst from one of the premier animation studios of the last few years actually. Open Season was even better.

Shrek and Toy Story set the standard for animated flicks, but I have to say that Igor is the best CG movie I've ever seen.

The Lion King is brilliant. I know I was limiting myself to just CGI animation films. If by "modern animation" movies we want to include any animated film from the last 20 years, then... well Lion King and Aladdin and Beauty & The Beast have to get thrown into the mix. Which makes Frankie's assertion even more insane.

You're so close. Genius does mean that one appreciates both Queensryche and Wall-E for being as stupendous as they are. Geniuses, though, wouldn't listen to Queensryche while watching Wall-E, as you can't appreciate both to anywhere close to a full extent while experiencing both simultaneously.

I thought they were both so high on the awesomenocity scale that Wall-E and Operation: Mindcrime (lol) were in sync. Queensryche were sooooooo ahead of their time that their opus transcended time itself; painting the fabric of reality in colorful, yet boring, and preachy CGI? :D

Or maybe Andrew Stanton wanted to make a not-so-subtle cartoon version of "An Inconvenient Truth"?
