Been unemployed since Oct 3; finally got an offer today on a new gig!
I originally applied back in November (prior to Turkey day); was asked to send in an application on December 6th; interviewed beginning of Februrary; and a 2nd interview about 2 weeks ago. It's a 30%+ pay hit, but I don't care. Things were beginning to get rough financially.

Great news. But if you're employed you should be drinking real beer.

Badass man, congrats! There are far too many of us without jobs, myself included. You're actually the first person I've heard in a long time say they were hired....if nothing else, it tells me its possible.
I'm just gonna shed some weight and join the military if I can't find a job soon.

Definitely; I use the phrase "Miller Time" very loosely.:D
Might make a trip to Lucas Liquor; I have my taste buds watering for:
Red Hook - IPA and/or Blonde
Leinenkugel - 1888 bock
Boddington's or Beamish.
......decisions, decisions...

Yeah; it's rough man. I was getting really really down; worried about EVERYTHING etc. Couldn't believe it had taken this long.
Final count; 75 resumes sent out; called back on, maybe, 8 of them. 3 interviews.
I drove around Tuesday and found some 'now hiring' signs for AutoZone, GNC, BWW etc. I was at the point where I would take/do anything.

Looks like my wife is getting her job back as well - the place she worked at that closed last fall is reopening under a new owner, and the old owner recommended her. She's even getting a bit of a raise. :thumb:

I usually do that as well; particularly if I don't want to do 6 really hoppy beers etc; or 6 wheats etc.
Some of my favorites were discovered this way.
While in Pensacola, I found a great Extra Pale (although, I think of it more of a Pale than IPA); from a brewery called "Sweetwater Brewery" out of Georgia I think; "Sweetwater 420"; damn delicious.

yep; rough indeed ("ah, 'rough'...just like your mother likes it Trebek")
Never thought I'd be this excited to 'work' :D
For all those CP-ers still waiting for work; hang in there. It's a b*tch, man. But things will turn around when you least expect it.

Luckily, I joined and 'did that' when I was 19; I was jokingly telling my wife that I was just going to re-enlist before I turned 32 in 5 months lol.
I think A) I'm too fat and out of shape to survive boot camp again; and B)My threshold for putting up with BS is not what it once was when I was 19.
