good deal for Buff. They have a nice looking offense now. They have a shot as the East title now IMO. Although I doubt they will win it. The Pats are still the best team over there

All depends on how much Trent Edwards develops. He flopped latter half of last year (except against the Chiefs)

So that means this is T.O.'s first time in the AFC. Should be interesting, it gives Trent Edwards a nice option now.

Me as well. Never would have thought he would go there. Owens has never been a guy that wants to play for teams that were not playoff teams.

I guess the market for him smaller than Drew said.

I think the Bills are a better team than everyone but New England in the East.

Lee Evans and TO is a nice combo. They have a good ground game. They also have an underrated defense.

TO now plays for a small market team with no publicity, no quarterback, in a division full of superior teams and in very cold weather. This is going to work out perfectly.

The Bills are kind of my 2nd favourite team, so that's nice.

Nothing like playing against the Chiefs defense last year to make a young QB feel more confident....

Yep.

This isn't a prolific passing team. I'd put the over/under on 8 games until we're watching TO confront Edwards on the sideline for his inability to get Mr. Wonderful the ball. ESPN will be thrilled, however.

Hell, 8 might be too generous.

Name one team Owens improved all that much. He's the kind of guy who can help a team go one extra round. I thought teamed with moss and welker he could help the patriots get back to their 2007 level offense. But I don't see him by himself making that big of a difference in buffalo.

Yeah. Maybe. If the bills don't go 16-0 then Owens will be calling out team mates and utter destruction is inevitable. This will be entertaining to watch at the very least. They don;t have a proven QB to feed him the ball enough to shut his big mouth.

This will work out well for the Bills...this year. They'll draft the tight end they've been missing, in a year where you can get a good one in the first or second round. Edwards will have a lot of nice options. The Bills schedule, though, should be harder than last year's and TO will be To the following year.

Or they took him there in order to try to get some of the spotlight. I wouldn't want that kind of publicity, though.

Trent Edwards had trouble getting the ball to Evans, (63 catches, 3 TD's) now he has TO in his ear?

Good luck with that.

Mecca
03-07-2009, 08:17 PM
It's a solid move for Buffalo now their only real offensive weakness is TE...Trent Edwards problem is the 3-4...he won 1 game against 3-4 defenses while posting a very good record against 4-3 defenses.

If he figures that out they are the 2nd best team in the division behind New England, if not I dunno the Jets have taken a step back and the Dolphins aren't more talented.

Not really. 6.5 for one year is more than the 5 mil he would have made in Dallas if he would have been retained. Either way he would have been a FA in 2010. It's a win win because if he plays very well, he has a better chance of being Franchised or getting a bigger contract with the bills than with the Cowboys.

Well, that doesn't make it sound like TO had that many teams competing like his agent said. I mean really, a one year deal? Obviously the numbers were not that good, so he is going to play his ass off next year, and try to seem like a team player, to see if he can get a real contract somewhere else next year.

Everybody thought Roy Williams was gonna go nuts opposite TO and that never happened. I'm not convinced Lee Evans is gonna have some monster year, and if he does TO probably won't like it. They still have to get past the Patriots, and while they aren't a Super Bowl team... you know the Dolphins are at least gonna be a 9-7 type team as long as Parcells is around.
