I'm looking for a video cable to connect my laptop to my TV. My laptop only has USB and i'd like to be able to use the RCA inputs on my TV. Do they make cables like that or fuggedaboutit?

RCA = 1 yellow plug [Video] and 1 Red and 1 white [ Audio]

Component = 1 Blue 1 Green 1 Red [ALL VIDEO ] + an extra audio cable would be needed to go from head phone jack on laptop to 1 red 1 white

Is your TV HDTV?

Component - HD cables...They are usually Red, Green, Blue

RCA (or Composite) - Its one Yellow Cable (Video) and a Red and White (Audio) Cables.

no man its older sony tv but we still use it. i was looking (i guess) for a cable that goes from VGA to old RCA (Y,R,W). its probably not even worth it because it'll look like a crap but i was wondering if they're out there

now that i think about it the vga is only going to send video signals huh? so the red and white would be useless...jesus i guess im gonna have to go buy a new tv

If your only output on your laptop is VGA, you're pretty limited in terms of linking it up to a TV that only has RCA inputs. You'd need an external USB video card, and I'm not sure I've ever seen one.

a used desktop would be better. Can get a cheap vid card for a desktop pc to connect to tv..then you could do coax to a switch box
