Looks strange. I didnt expect anything less from SPike Jonze. Ive heard that they actually filmed this 2 or 3 years ago and had to re film it again.

It will most likely flop. Not kiddy enough for kids, too out there for adults.

Disagree wholeheartedly. A generation grew up on this book and some of that generation has kids. I think it'll do tremendously well.

It will not be a blockbuster, that's for sure. Like All Spike Jonze movies, it has a very specific audience.

I'll probably like it; I've enjoyed his past movies very much.

It will probably have a decent opening weekend, but then once word gets out that its too "art house" it will drop. Similiar to whats happened with Watchmen.

Oh, i applaud the decision to go with Muppets over CGI for the monsters.

A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips gushed over this like broads, a promising development.

The best movie they've seen all year may have been mentioned. They definitely were emotional affected by it, said that it may be more emotionally devastating for adults than kids because it hits on things such that kids will gloss over the portent and just go with the story.

Suffice it to say their review has me very excited. Especially since Being John Malkovich and ESPECIALLY Adaptation are among my favorite all time movies.

Great news. Love that they went with the Muppet look over the CGI look.

So I just saw this movie.

Disclaimer I did not read this book as a child. So it has no nostalgia for me in that sense.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I took my GF's 6 Year Old nephew and he said he liked it. I do think it was a bit to old for him. Probably 9-10 year olds would be the youngest to truly enjoy.

For adults there's plenty of layers to pick up on. This is a pretty deep movie that'll have you thinking long after you leave the theater.

It's not your typical kids movie with all kindsa fart jokes, loud noisies CGI, and jokes that will be dated in 2-3 years from now.

It's funny without being jokey.
It's heartwarming without being treacly.
It will make you remember being 9 years old and letting your imagination take over and fully escape into a different world.
