CHIEFS PRESEASON OPPONENTS SET FOR 2009

The National Football League officially announced its 2009 preseason matchups on Monday. All games will be shown locally on KCTV-5 and the times and dates will be announced as soon as it becomes finalized. Kansas City will open its 2009 preseason slate with a home game against the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs 2009 road schedule will begin with a trip to the Minnesota Vikings. In its third preseason game,

Kansas City returns home to face the Seattle Seahawks.

Kansas City will conclude its preseason schedule with the 2009 installment of the Governor’s Cup series when it travels across Missouri to take on the Rams in St. Louis. The NFL has advised teams that dates and times for the 2009 regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.

The last few times they've played the Hawks it's been in KC. Hopefully next year, they'll play the regular season game in Seattle. I'd like to attend. It's been a few years.

They try to keep the preseason pretty regional for the most part.

For once I wish they'd play a preseason game against the 49ers in SF. That way I could go see them without having to go to the fucking game in Oakland.

Intresting scheduling quirk - Chiefs play the Vikings in Minnesota and the Royals host the Twins on the same weekend. And the Royals travel to Seattle while the Chiefs host the Seahawks.

I'm surprised the Chiefs let this info leak out. We'd have a better competitive advantage if our opponents didn't know who they were playing until kickoff.
