How come Ford isn't included?

The statement goes on further to say the same demand will be made of Ford if it asks for government assistance. “In order to receive this money, corporations must demonstrate they will spend it wisely. Racing has been said to improve on-road technology, but frankly, NASCAR almost flaunts its standing among the lowest-tech forms of motorsport. NASCAR is not proven to drive advancements that transfer from the racetrack to the road, and this nation’s way forward does not hinge on decades-old technology. We need new, and we need innovation.”

NASCAR is going to struggle holding it's current level given the current state of the auto industry. I'm also guessing that event attendance will be down this season too.

nascar is going to struggle for alot of reasons, but it seems like blue collar guys and rednecks are the hard core fan, and they do everything they can to piss those people off. Plus those are the people who get laid off the most, and they still run crazy ticket prices up there.

There's absolutely nothing that NASCAR race cars have in common with their production counterparts. As Papa Joe Chevalier once said, "The most important thing in my car is the radio and the air conditioner, and you guys have neither of them".

It already is.

Welcome to the new Socialist Republic of the United States. In case you missed, President Obama fired the CEO of General Motors -- a publicly held company. Today, Obama killed NASCAR. Obama meets for the G20. The leaders should ask him about an unprecedented level of authority of threats to American corporations. That'll leave a mark.

Obama kills NASCAR
