JoPo mentioned something about the "recently released" Ponson in his column this morning.
Wonder if they're going to call up Hochevar to pitch on Friday?

That may be the 40 Man....but the 25 man roster does not have him either??? Interesting and...well.....Fantastic!

Well, good, now if Farnsworth could just follow him on out then everything would be lovely.

He simply hasn't been added to the roster yet.

They have kept transactions fairly timely on that page. I believe I saw him on there during the Rangers spring games in Texas when training camp broke.

to be honest I think Hochevar needs to start out in the bullpen.

When this all went down they said Ponson would be left at extended spring training for one additional start and then be ready to be put on the roster by the home opener. I also saw the recently released statement and wondered about it but that could have referred to his release from his previous team.

Ponson is every bit as terrible as Farnsworth. He was good once way back when he was with BAL. But hasn't nearly lived up to what he was then.

They still have him as the projected starter Friday. I can't find anything about him being released.

JazzLovr reminded me that they were going to give him another "spring start" in AAA before activating him for the home opener... so he's basically not on either roster yet but will be by the weekend.

That's right, and because he had originally signed a minor league contract he doesn't need to be placed on the 25 or 40 man rosters until then. I wonder who they will send down or DFA when Ponson is added?

He'll have more time to hang out at home in Aruba
