You know it's gonna happen, right? Pioli already has multiple picks lined up for his ass. I'm guessing Panthers...

Not happening, IMO. No one is going to make an offer worth taking. I'd personally be shocked if anyone was even willing to part with a 6th round pick.

Out of Gonzalez, Waters and LJ, I think LJ is the most likely to still be a Chief come Opening Day.

the Panthers have DeAngelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart, why the hell would they want LJ????? No way in hell he goes to Carolina

Yeah, the Panthers are a no-go.

I'm pretty sure LJ and Waters are gonna be here next year, happy or not.

Tony probably will be too, but he's really the only one with a fighting chance of getting out IMO.

It won't be the Panthers, nice Peppers prod....they can't be anything but ecstatic about their RB situation right now though. But I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple trades with 1 or 2 players with additional picks involved. Who knows what we'll look like by Monday...

Our list of obvious Trade Bait:
#3 Overall Selection in the 2009 Draft
Larry Johnson**
Tony Gonzalez
Brian Waters

**I personally think he's staying, which is only because he's better than the alternative right now, thanks Carl.

Imagine any combination of those two and what we'd expect to see in return - the future looks bright fellas. The bigger question to me is what kind of players we might see in return? Draft picks are obviously fun right now, but we also need impact players.

Not going to happen. LJ will be the starter this season. He will put up 100+ yards and a TD or two against the Ravens on opening day and all will be forgotten. Football Fans have severe cases of amnesia when their team wins or a player on their team performs. All will be forgotten and Chiefs Fans will be chanting LJ, LJ, LJ and wearing his jersey on Sundays at Arrowhead...

If he could do that against their defense, that would be a sign he's nice and pissed off and is gonna rush for 1,500+ yards. It would blow my f*cking mind if he came out of the gate that hot.

I'm expecting a 15 carries/50 yards type of effort myself. But I like your scenario a whole lot better.

The Skins.... Snyder has to be the biggest fuggin idiot in the NFL whne it comes to trading draft picks for players who are beyond their prime. If not him, I'de debate the Cards would be a second option, although less likely to give as much compensation as Snyder. They were ALMOST good enough to win it all last year riding the shoulders of a HB with far more wear than LJ. This would be their final curtain call befor falling back to mediocracy.

LJ will be lucky to get 50 yards, and he'll miss a block that gets Cassel killed.

He should get at least what we got for Bennett. That was what? A 5th or a 4th?

I can just picture Ed Reed cruising around the corner while LJ makes a half assed attempt to block him befor blowing out Cassel's knee.

I'm not sure how you could possibly imagine a scenario in which the Panthers would trade draft picks for Larry Johnson.

It is 4/20 so I guess the only explanation is that you are high.

Why?

What was Bennett making? Under a million?

Even if LJ had a lower salary, and had actually produced over the past few years, he'd still probably only fetch us a 4th round pick - at best.

The team we have the option to trade him to wouldn't have to count the prorated portion of his signing bonus against his annual salary. It might suprise you how low his base salary is the next couple seasons.

If a 4th's the best we were offered, keep him and draft his successor next season.

The new Chiefs are the perfect organization for LJ now. They don't give a **** about other than what happens on the field and neither does Larry. It's not your business to know, unless they want you to know.

I think he is a good fit for Pioli and Todd Haley's team, just look at the three sub-par running backs that were on Arizona's roster and the several on New England's.

I dunno. I guess they are trying to keep it up to date. Vrabel and Thomas are on there as well, yet they have not dropped Donnie Edwards, Surtain, or even Darling.

But they do have a passion for washed up backs, they signed Shaun Alexander last year.
