For example:

1. There will be a rumor that a deal is done for Tony to be traded to Philly or Atlanta. It won't happen. After the draft we'll find out that there was no basis to the rumor. But, the rumor sure did provide some angst in KC for 36 hours.

2. There will be a rumor (it's already out there) that the Chiefs are trading down with Washington to the 13th. The Chiefs will get the 13th, next year's 1st and a 2nd or 3rd this year. This rumor will turn out to be true and Chiefs fans will be thrilled.
