The Gonzo trade and the fan backlash got me thinking about how it compares to when the Niners traded Montana. So I searched for articles on what the Niners got in return for trading Montana. "(Tonight, the 49ers traded the 36-year-old quarterback -- along with safety David Whitmore and a 1994 third-round draft pick -- to Kansas City for the Chiefs' first-round selection (the 18th over all) in the National Football League draft on Sunday.)"
I forgot that CP tried to trade DT to the Niners for Young the year earlier. I know this is blasphemy, and I loved DT, but I think the Chiefs might have won some playoff games and a possible SB had that transaction transpired. And DT might still be alive today.
