I like Niswanger. Hes smart. If they get someone to the right of him who knows what they're doing I suspect he will thrive. Not to mention have the goods to call signals well for the line

So like if we sign someone like Mike Goff to play RG then Niswanger could thrive?

Actually...Tony Curtis is not too bad of a player. He was playing behind Witten and barely saw the field. He Was used in Double TE sets for Catching or Blocking...especially in the Goal Line offense.

Assuming we can afford goff on the right side, I think Niswanger will thrive, yes. :)

Great move to keep Niswanger. For several reasons...

Great bench versatility
Good stopgap if the Chiefs don't think they can get a center they like in this year's draft. He won't kill the team, but he won't particularly help them either.

Niswanger is fucking terrible. If Denver gets a true 3-4 NT, he's going to get his head shoved into his ass four times a year...and that's just in division.

I hear the Redskins don't know what to do with Fred Davis. I don't recall who their starting TE is but he is apparently good. Maybe we will see Davis in whatever package Snyder will offer us for the 3.

I foresee a lot of Max Protect with all these shitbag TE signings.

he's not that bad cmon.

I guess a demon possessed his body and made him completely worthless at the point of attack last year.

He and Jones were the reason why we had no type of goal line or short yardage offense.

You want a smart center, fine, get a Matt Birk type. I know he's a good story b/c he was a UDFA and got a 4.0 in college and wants to go to medical school, but he's not a good interior lineman.

Niswanger's a good solid lineman who can help your football team at a couple different positions.
He'll be a good reserve.

Hopefully we'll find his replacement at Center in the Draft.

TE Tony Curtis? Next we'll sign WR Jack Lemmon?

I like the Curtis signing. He made some plays in the Cowgirls games I watched last season. Big, receiving TE who is expendable to them with Witten and Bennett.

Yeah, I liked what I saw out of Curtis in a few cowgirl games. Plus, he's a special teamer. Can't have too many of those. Rudy? Meh...

Hes pretty big for a center.. plus it wont be just him taking on the NT.

He has horrible leverage because he doesn't bend well at the hips and plays too tall...

Hes young still, he also has some new coaches to work with. I'm not saying he will be good, but I don't think its impossible for him to be good. I mean yeah if we can upgrade then great to it, but I think hes good/young enough to get by with for now and fill bigger wholes. I think Muir and also having Waters and Goff beside him helps out a little.

If you're gonna show faith in some young lineman, throw it the way of Richardson and Taylor. They actually have talent.
