Look, we obviously had ZERO takers to trade down, and this draft has basically the same talent level from 1 to damn near 20. He was the best that they saw. I'd rather have Richard Seymore than Kieth Bullock.

A bunch of bitches. We'll see how the defense improves.

It almost has to improve. Why? Because our coaching staff was effing brain dead. We had 10 sacks as a team last year. We will improve, but it won't be because we reached on someone that should have been drafted in the 15-20 range at number 3.

You don't have to be a genious to figure it out.

Instead you hand 36 million to Matt fucking Cassel and drop another 25+ guaranteed on a mid first rounder like Tyson Jackson.

Scott Pioli has made 1, 1 pick as a GM.

Tyson Jackson at three.

He wasn't in charge of scouting, that was Dimitroff.

He wasn't the guy making the pick, that was Belichick.

But please, continue to suckle the cock of a guy who just took the 15th-20th rated prospect at 3 and traded our second rounder for a backup.

I personally don't know about the pick, but I'm reserving judgment. What I do know is that if the old regime was still in power, this team had zero chance of getting better, with no one to scout talent properly and no one to "coach up" talent properly. Now it's unknown if this new regime will be any good or not, but it's better than knowing the regime will continue to suck.

So, if the pick works out, Scott Pioli gets credit despite not being the guy in charge. If they end up with Maroney, Chad Jackson, Ben Watson, or Daniel Graham, then it's Belichick's fault because he's in charge.

Trading for backup QB's you're familiar with then drafting a role player in the top 3 so you can shoehorn in your defensive scheme making last years top 5 pick mean nothing is not my idea of rebuilding.

Just rebuild the rebuild...they might aswell trade most of the team it's pretty obvious they aren't going with a scheme the players fits they are going to make players fit the scheme.

I'm not ready to give up on Pioli, but this was a fucking stupid pick that was a result of the 3-4 defense move (stupid) the Cassel trade (stupid) and this Jackson pick (stupid).

It's going to take a miracle for all three moves to work out. It's not likely at all. Stupid decisions were made this offseason. That's all there is to it.

In all this talk about "safe" picks and doing the "safe" thing we ended up with the most unsafe circumstances.

It's far more likely that Sanchez will be an elite NFL QB and that Dorsey will thrive in a 4-3 than it is that the Chiefs move to the 3-4 and Cassel will work out great.

You have to wonder how behind the curve Pioli really was with preparing for the Chiefs draft considering how slow Clark Hunt's process was in hiring him and leaving the decision to fire Herm for Pioli to decide on and carry out.

Pioli sucks. That's all there is to it. Don't give any excuses for him.

I'd like to know why people think stupid moves are acceptable because Scott Pioli is making them. If Peterson had made these exact moves everyone would be melting down about how dumb this is.

But hey nevermind, either Pioli is some super genius that is gonna be great or we're gonna be in the cellar for 10 years.

I trust that Pioli does his job better than Peterson did. So I may not agree with the pick, but I trust in him more than I do in Peterson's judgment. Pioli has a good draft history. Peterson didn't. Granted he had more so maybe it's just a coin flip afterall and Peterson averaged out. Hopefully we don't help Pioli lower his average.

how many tackles did he have?you said he had a VERY good rook year. i disagree, he was promising but he didnt last for obvious reasons but a first is not a good pick if they only last 2 years

Last year I looked for his stats, and couldn't find him. If I remember right, he was in the discussion for rookie of the year (I could be wrong). However, you can't judge whether a pick was good or bad based off a freak injury like that. it's not like any scout on Earth can project a plyer to fall off a moped (except Vince Young, possibly).

Yes, worse.

This guy isn't Derrick Thomas. He's not Neil Smith. He's not Julius Peppers. He's not Mario Williams.

He's just a "guy". A "guy" who will be coached by ****ing Tim Krumrie and play under a defensive coordinator WORSE than Gunther.

GREAT way to start the new regime!

1. Hire a shitty coaching staff. Check.

2. Trade for a "One year wonder" QB and LB who CLEARLY doesn't want to end his career on a shitty team. Check.

3. Trade a Hall of Famer for a pick next year. Check.

4. Cut a 4th round WR BEFORE mini-camp. Check.

5. Draft a non impact player with the 3rd overall pick. Check.

6. Alienate one of your only Pro Bowl players. Check.
