This is huge! It will include online play.
This is without a doubt my favorite fighting game that still gets a lot of play on my dreamcast. Can't wait!

I really, really hope this an "HD Remix".

Oh - and I like Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter for Sega Saturn slightly better. :)

I don't think there's any chance it'll be an HD remix due to the ridiculous amount of time it would take to redraw that many sprites. My hope is that they announce that it will be released tomorrow for Live/Thursday for PSN.

Update: As expected, Capcom has made the return of MvC2 official via Capcom Unity (http://www.capcom-unity.com/sven/blog/2009/04/27/wheres_yo_curleh_mustache_yes_mvc2_is_real). The biggest news: a demo of the game will be available on PSN this week (most likely during the usual update on Thursday, April 30. Christian Svensson, the company's VP of strategic planning and business development, calls this the "definitive version" of the classic fighter, providing some details to back up his claim.

In addition to the already confirmed online play, it's been revealed that the game is based on the Sega Dreamcast release, features HD upscaling and widescreen options, and will support custom soundtracks on both platforms. Also, all 56 characters will be "unlocked" from the beginning. <strike>No word yet on a 360 demo, but we've dropped Capcom a line for comment.</strike> [PlayStation.Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/04/27/marvel-vs-capcom-2-revealed-demo-exclusive-to-psn/) confirms the demo is exclusive to PSN.]

I played the Demo of this game. They made it fit a HDTV screen perfectly.

I never played the game before but a bunch of my friends and one of my roommates are really into this game, so I'll probably be getting into it.

It was pretty fun.

Although the demo was pretty limited, you had the choice of 6 characters only. Wolverine, Spiderman, Ironman, Ryu (I think), Chun-Li (I think), and Strider (I think).

P.S. the Demo is 2 player local only....

Anyways, looks like the game will def be worth the $15.

Working :( I was trying to use an all SF team and all X-Men for those achievements since those are probably the only two I'll ever get. Think one team was Sakura/Dan, Akuma, Ryu...then Wolverine, Captain America/Gambit and Iron Man/Cyclops?

how on earth do you do those crazy 30 hit combos? sometimes when I bring in the backup fighter it does it automatically, but other than that I can't figure out how to do more than a 3 hit combo. Of course, I've only played it for 30 min, but I can't beat the CPU on medium

build up your hyper meter and hold both the assist buttons.. if your meter is maxed to level 4 or 5, all three of your characters pop out and perform a hyper move. If you have the right characters, this alone can be a 100+ combo.

what makes Wolverine that great? He seems more limited as a closer-up type fighter? I'm terrible though. But it seems most things I've read about team make-up and the game seem to have Storm, Cable, Sentinel, Wolverine, Magneto in the top tier teams.

wolverine and spiderman are both fast a shit.. very easy to combo with.. they just have really poor defense.
I don't use all high tier players.. but if you go online, you'll find plenty of sentinel, cable, magneto... Sentinel and storm both have really great assists if you know how to use them.
