View Full Version : Life (Business bragging) I am pleased to announce that...

Rain Man

...my company was just named Denver Small Business of the Year by the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.

The line for congratulatory handshakes will start to my left.

It's a great win for us, well-publicized and covered by the local media. I don't know how it'll translate to revenues and contracts, but I can say that it has had a strong positive impact on pride and spontaneous smiling. It's a great culmination of our first decade of business, as our ten-year anniversary is coming up in a couple of months.

If this is a repost, please let me know because it means I have no short-term memory.

Why, that was the very article I read. Congratulations, sincerely even. If you and the misses have a kid, could I suggest a name that starts with K? Then you'll be the KKK family.

Duly noted. When they launch their apricot colored beer next year, that will be confirmation for all.

Congrats Rainman! The company my nephew works for won that award in KC and the owner mentors others now. One of his "students" won the award with his small business a couple of years ago. Cool stuff.

“This is a huge validation of our work, and what’s possible with dedication and a long-term view of a company,” said Karla Raines, who is one of three equal partners along with her husband, Kevin, and Leo Lewis.
Looks like you got second billing.

Also, be sure to slam your fists down on the podium. All good speakers do that. And yell. And make references to taking back the Rhineland. Crowds love that.

In an interesting coincidence, my wife just had a business meeting this week at the Hunt family ranch in Colorado (owned by Lamar's sister, I think). It's some enormous ranch in rural Colorado that is occasionally visited by the sister, but apparently she generally just leaves it to run as a ranch and occasionally lets friends use it for corporate retreats. I wish I could've gone to check it out.
