For some reason I can't recall, this movie kind of interested me in commercials and such because AJ was sportin' the flapper garb. No sexy here, it's hard to make "sexy" out of "flapper"; shit rarely works.

Below the surface morals of this film, there's an underlying question regarding the advancement of American society, morals, and law as a whole. Who the fuck are we???

It seems like for every step we move forward, there are always 3 or more steps back. And you look at this film set in the bootlegger era, and you wonder to yourself; why it is we repeat this cycle of injustice and never seem to truly advance beyond the most childlike and basic guidelines set forth in the beginning of our Country. We embrace the idea of them, but we never truly actualize them beyond isolated cases.

We don't practice much introspection in this Country. We always look outward as a majority instead of inward.
