How much money do you save using it?

What type receiver do you need?

Do you get any free channels?

Those big dishes are antiques. I haven't used one in 5+ years and even then there were few program providers. To read about what is available go to a bookstore and get a copy of Orbit Magazine. The small dishes have kicked their ass.

My parents used the Big Dish up to about 3 years ago. They had a 4D TV system. It sucked. The frequency was always needing to be tweaked to get a clear pic. Kansas wind played hell with it. Their hydraulic arm (actuator I think?) broke twice and had to be replaced for a pretty penny and there are only like 2 people in the entire state that still work on them (Trio Satellite in Hutchinson is who they always used but they quit servicing them....hence, the change to small dish). It sucked ass to mow and weedeat under. That being said, they had it since I was a little kid. I grew up using Echostar KUband equipment. We lived in the coutry and couldn't get cable so we had the big dish from the 80's clear up to 2006. My dad said his biggest regret is not going to the small dish sooner. The big dish was not all that much cheaper either. Prices really ballooned in the last couple years they had it.

There is a cool new game that is soon being released as a home console called Pong.

20+ years ago those things were the shit, though. I knew a couple of people who had them. Everything from HBO to the full XXX porno channels were wide open, free and unscrambled, at least in the beginning.
