I'm bought a Sony Camcorder and I wanted to get a huge memory stick to compliment it.

Do they make bigger than 16GB?

How much HD time would I get with 16 GB?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of a memory stick?

Also, I think you might be somewhat confused with the whole "HD" part.

What type of memory does it use? I've never seen SD cards bigger than 16GB, I think they can hold about 4 hours of HD video.

It's an HD camcorder that relies on flash memory to store.

OK, it uses the Pro Duo. I don't know much about those.

The camera can support MPEG2 and AVCHD, but probably defaults to AVCHD format, which means you could get about 4 hours of video on a 16GB stick.

I bought a 32gb memory stick for my Samsung 1080p HD camcorder. You should probably check with the manufacturer to see how much your camera can hold and recognize.

My camera does H.264 which is a different codec than MPeg2 but as mentioned, 16 gigs should get you somewhere around 4 hours.

Biggest one I could find for that camera on a (real) quick search.

geez - 16Gb pro duo stick is running $75-99 - I don't think I'd want to look any bigger than that! It's actually cheaper to buy two 8Gb sticks.

Yeah, it is. I think I'll have to go that route.

Can I use SanDisk in a Sony HD Camcorder?

What is the difference between Sandisk's memory stick pro duo and the Video HD stick?

Price would be my guess. Maybe a little bit faster, but it's probably not a very noticeable difference.

Bad Guy, there is a guy on Newegg reviews that says he is using the Video HD Sandisk in his HDR-UX10 on full HD and it works fine. I think the Video HD card is similar to the Memory Stick Pro Duo Mark 2 cards, which are faster.

Thanks for posting about your new camera. I ended up buying the same one yesterday for $389. I like that it has a little more heft than the flash based cameras, which a lot of people say are too light to keep steady. Should get it next week.
