Zack pitches on Saturday. The rotation is:

Meche
Greinke
Davies
Ponson
Bannister

Mr. Krab

It probably should be

Greinke
Meche
Bannister
Davies
Hochever :D

Although Ponson gets a bump because of his last start and Davies is just holding on because he's younger.

Ponson will be saved and Davies will be sent down because he has options left. Not to mention Ponson looked like he had his sinker working again last start.

Fuck fair weathered fans...I managed through the Royals losing seasons without changing my team and now I can truly be proud about what we have now.

Oh yeah - Fuck Rush, Tom Sawyer is OK, even though their drummer has like 6 arms. He should give one of his arms to Def Leppards drummer.

It is really exciting to finally have respectable-good pitching. Great pitching in some cases (Greinke/Soria)

This club has been poisoned with terrible draft picks, ownership and so on. For a long time it was really hard to like the Royals just because of what ownership let the team become.

To be honest, the Carlos Beltran trade almost pretty much did it for me. that basically told me that KC wasn't in it to win, but to profit. WTF kind of organization doesn't have winning a championship as its #1 priority? If they weren't going to put a respectable team on the field that can compete, then I wasn't going to spend any money and any time going out to the games, regardless of how cheap their tickets were or whether it was buck night and so on....

But Greinke has really lit a fire under this club and it's not destined I think to do some great things. We could be in the hunt for someone come trade deadline if we are still in it. Good things shall come. wait n see....

Royals rotation - FIP, tRA, tRA+ (http://www.royalsreview.com/2009/5/8/869119/royals-rotation-fip-tra-tra+)

Zack Greinke - 1.39, 1.35, 174 (#1 starter level)
Gil Meche - 2.46, 2.85, 146 (#1 starter level)
Kyle Davies - 5.62, 7.01, 66 (#5 starter level - below replacement level)
Sidney Ponson - 4.70, 5.15, 102 (#3 starter level)
Brian Bannister - 4.05, 3.49, 133 (#1 starter level)
AVERAGES. (based on 2007 and 2008 data)

#1 STARTERS: 130 tRA+

#2 STARTERS: 112 tRA+

#3 STARTERS: 100 tRA+

#4 STARTERS: 91 tRA+

#5 STARTERS: 76 tRA+

MARKERS.

These represent the breakpoints between each slot. For example, between a 95 and a 106 tRA+ would be rated as a #3 starter. Below 86 and you’re a #5, above a 118 and you’re a #1.

1 - 2 BARRIER: 118 tRA+

2 - 3 BARRIER: 106 tRA+

3 - 4 BARRIER: 95 tRA+

4 - 5 BARRIER: 86 tRA+

So, as of today, the Royals have three starters who, so far, have pitched better than an average #1 SP.

Pssh, every year I predict us winning the World Series.

I always say "we have a shot at the playoffs this year" and go with a win total in the 80s. This year I said 92-96 wins and we will make a run at the series. At the Phoggy Dog I predicted the Royals would win the series and all the drunks just laughed in my face and called me a moron, one guy nodded his head in agreement but he's my bestfriend and we go to games together and usually saying 90 wins every year.

Steve Busby

Paul Splittorff

Nelson Briles

Bruce dal Canton

Marty Patton (greatest daffy duck impersonator on record)

Nellie Briles wasn't the most talented pitcher, but I just loved to watch the guy do his job.

He'd get in those spots that he felt he needed just a little something extra, and he'd throw everything inot his pitch, including throwing his body off the mound.
