View Full Version : Video Games Passing to your FB on Madden?

Okay, well today was a funny day. A local store, a little bit similar to Gamestop called Vintage Stock, was hosting a 16 person Madden tournament. Many people from school attended, and one person I knew claimed he was super good (using the Texans.)

He lost in the first round to a guy who used the Chiefs. Eventually the player who used the Chiefs won the whole thing. The settings were zero rewinds and All-Madden. (So it was fair for everyone.)

Now the guy who used the Texans was complaining like a baby saying the player who used the Chiefs shouldn't have won. Reason for that is because he passed to his fullback the majority of the time. (I think in the final game he passed at least 10 times to the FB and got over 100 yards.) The player who used the Texans made a complaint that you cannot defend a FB on Madden because it is "impossible." Another complaint was that NFL teams in real life (despite this is a video game) don't plan on defending FB's.

So my question is, is it fair to throw to your FB (despite what Cris Collinsworth says on Madden about that haha.) I guess I'd consider it fair, but if you have a problem with it, just defend him.

I know this may seem like a silly thread to make, but I thought I'd ask some of you guys since we have a lot of gamers on here.

That's BS. The dude was just a sore loser and not a very good Madden gamer if that was his complaint.

lame complaint, now if the guy using the chiefs was nano-blitzing and other exploits, then it would be a fair complaint.

Honestly....if he stayed in the 2 deep man coverage. (4-3, d line for pass rush, LB's on the TE and RB's.) it would have been guarded every time. Hell even in cover 2 he would have been okay. I bet it was the inside slant the whole time.

In madden it's better to not blitz all the time and have a bend but don't break mentality. Give them the 2-3 yards but they won't get a first down every time.

This past year was at least fun on KC's offense w/ Thigpen getting a ratings boost and still being mobile.

I thought I should mention this, which may make a lot of people laugh, but that dominant full back was Oliver Hoyte (the roster's were not updated)

Ouch....a guy that didn't make the team. That really makes me believe the glitch helped but it's not unstoppable.

Well shit...that kills the joke....I mean it's much more fun when you can't catch the cox.

Ouch....a guy that didn't make the team.

Not only that, but a guy who changed from fullback to linebacker!

The Texans guy sucks then. Its not "impossible" to defend the Fullback. Just audible your linebacker to play man-to-man on the FB if you know the guy your playing against uses him a lot.

can we make this a video game etiquette thread?
In halo 2, is it ok to use the plasma pistol--very good hit %-- and then battle rifle for the one (head) shot kill. In halo 3, is it ok to use double needler? In halo 2, do you mind it when somebody constantly crouches?
Im above average to good in each game, but I'd like to know what the great players think. I hate getting killed by crouch-asses, greeners and double needs.

WTF is this? I've never seen a double needler in Halo 3 and I have 4 accounts that are 50s.

ok scratch the needler part. I haven't played Halo 3 in about a year. I was thinking about always getting killed with the needler...now I feel like a pussy because it was only a single weapon. Back to Halo 2....SMG and Plasma rifle...acceptable way to kill someone?

I was watching the 94 playoff game the other day, against Miami. Anders caught a short pass, trucked a linebacker, spun off a DB and went like 70 yards for a TD. Underrated Chief.

Depends how you're doing it....if you are using the double HB set where Charles lines up as the FB and then swinging it to him in the flat over and over then yes are you cheesing with the game.
