Interesting mix of styles. Couple old timers gearing back up. Anyone else plan on going?

I'd mostly only be interested in seeing Testament. I'm almost surprised to see that Skolnick has rejoined them for a full tour. I knew he did the reunion benefit show for Chuck Billy, but didn't expect him to rejoin for a full tour, especially after he personally told me (when I met him after a TSO show during the last year that TSO East played St. Louis) that he was no longer interested in playing thrash and that he didn't intend to ever rejoin Testament. Oh well, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men ...

Testament would be my reason to go if any. I like some of Unearth's stuff too.

On a side note: What happened to Alex's side jazz project "Skol Patrol"? I've seen a few articles and interviews on it but no recordings.

I don't think they ever did record. They were mostly just doing club appearances.

I was curious and did some digging.

I guess he has recorded a couple albums.

Here's an excerpt from the site about the new one, Last Day in Paradise:

"For this album, the group has gone beyond the traditional trio format, incorporating voice, slide guitar, loops, and other sonic embelishments, enhancing the strong, melodic compositions. Also included are a Latin arrangement of the Testament anthem Practice What You Preach and an electonica inspired version of the Rush classic Tom Sawyer* both incorporating modern jazz harmony."

I'd like to hear some of these.

Their first Video:

Song picks up near the 2 min mark with some good style from Alex. I don't like the voices, they seem out of place.

While I'm not a fan of anything past The Stings of Conscience, Unearth puts on a good show. I can get down to Lazarus A.D. Skeletonwitch is the shit. For the locals, I'll definitely take every advantage to see Coalesce I can get. Hopefully Hammerlord will get some exposure that they deserve. Koktopus will bring it. Diskreet, while not my cup of tea, come across better live, imo. I didn't even know Eyes of the Betrayer were still playing.

And The Killer? The Killer from Killadelphia?

I'm a little proud of KC for this show.

My bad, The Killer is from Chicago. Tough Guy HC, ftw!
