I know he hasn't played much recently. Has it all been related to that ankle injury?

Jansen is a good player who'd be a significant upgrade. The question with him is whether or not he can stay healthy. Personally, if I were the Chiefs/Chiefs fans, I'd rather have Jansen (even if I expect him to get hurt) with the current starter as a backup than have the current starter remain in that role.

My only concern is his ability to stay healthy, but I vied for Mark Tauscher who struggled last year with injuries as well so...

I wouldn't mind Jansen being signed.
Adding Jansen would make for a good Offensive Line.

Jansen Heading Home To Play For Lions

Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 29, 2009, 7:00 p.m. EDT

Hours after veteran offensive tackle Jon Jansen was cut by the Washington Redskins, he has reached a verbal agreement with the Detroit Lions, according to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free-Press.

Per the report, the deal won’t become official until the former University of Michigan lineman passes a physical set for Monday.

Jansen is a Michigan native who played for the Redskins for the past nine seasons.

Drafted in the second round in 1999, Jansen started 123 games for the NFC East franchise..
