I'm sure y'all don't want to hear this from the Cards fan (especially the one that told you this was going to happen), but if y'all don't fire Trey Hillman, you're a lead-pipe lock for the 2nd worst record in baseball and I could honestly see you making a run at Washington for that #1 pick.

There's NOTHING your club does well. Absolutely nothing. You have 1 good pitcher, 1 sometimes good pitcher and a manager hell-bent on burning out both of those guys while simultaneously submarining every chance you have.

Don't get me wrong, your team is built like horse!@#$, Moore's a bad GM, but you have a team that could be managed to a 75-80 win season if someone knew what they were doing.

I think Hillman will steer this ship to 100 losses, JMHO.

Washington will pass us around the All-Star Break. I think Trey will resign at the end of the upcoming homestand unless we go 8-1 (we won't - we're looking at a 2-7 homestand being capped off by a humilating sweep by the Cards paying us back fpr sweeping us at their place last year.

The way the team plays I actually have my doubts that they can win 18 more games this year and avoid 120 losses.

Since May 8 the Royals have played .225 baseball. If you take that percentage and multiplying by the team's remaining 103 games the Royals win 49 games.

BTW when Glass fires Dayton this fall (he either must fired or extended at the end of the season) I do not think Glass will bring a GM who wants to try to build a winning franchise but a GM that will do what Bud Selig wants him to do -- be a AAAA farm team for the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yankees.

Moore will be extended or will resign. I think he will stay on. He has done a lot for the farm team. I wouldn't fire him. But I think there has to be some sign that this is just a growing pain.

This is actually where I give Glass a TON of credit.

We don't actually know what Moore's done for the farm team, but we know Glass has shown a major commitment to going above slot for high-end talent.

Melville, Hosmer, Crow and the 2nd rounder you fellas got this year were all 'Glass' gets, IMO. They were no-brainers at the slots they were drafted, presuming you'd get the money to sign them.

If Moore unearths some mid-rounders or slot picks that outperform their positions, I'll give him credit for building a strong farm system, but all he's really doing right now is spending money his predecessors never got to go above slot for premium draft talent. I'm not sure how much credit he really deserves for that.

I'm not sure how anyone can claim Moore has done a good job assembling the farm system.

We've had the money to draft legit players and we've done it. It's the same thing that any single GM in baseball would do with the proper resources. Scratch that. Not everyone would have taken fucking Hochevar #1 overall. That's unique to Dayton, or the "ghost" who supposedly made the selection.
