Ginger Rogers! I had her name on the tip of my tongue.
I kept thinking Mimi Rogers...

I didn't include Cronkite because he's from St. Joe.
But if we're going to include STJ... Throw Eminem's name in the hat.

Jason Sudakis(sp?) from Saturday Night Live is also from KC also went to SM West, they interviewed him on a recent Royals game.

Hey Mic, not to hijack the thread, but are you opening for Talib Kweli tomorrow night? For some reason when you originally posted about it I though you said the show was at the Granada in Lawrence. Found out it was at Crossroads a couple days ago, and my boy got me on the list. I'm stoked. Talib on Thurs, and Stevie on Fri, it is going to be a good weekend. :D

I am opening. I go on at 8pm sharp!

You're going to see Little Stevie Wonder on Friday? BASTARD!
That's the first night of the class I'm teaching for my UMKC kids.
I can't go!

Awesome man, really looking forward to seeing your show!

I know! Been a big Stevie fan since I was real little and my mom used to play his records. Can't wait. If Prince would only come back somewhere near KC, I could die happy.

Walter was from from St. Joe, but he started his broadcasting career in KC, and he is the great uncle of Kay Barnes.

Stevie Wonder played the biggest musical role of my childhood.
I am heartbroken that I can't go see him on Friday night.
If it weren't for my UMKC kids I'd back out of my commitment.

I don't know how many more chances I'll have to see Stevie.
This was a GOLDEN opportunity.
