View Full Version : Electronics Final television question (troubleshooting)

Finally pulled the trigger on a 50 inch Samsung plasma. I've been watching the NBA Draft for a while on HD and every couple minutes it will flash to a black screen and show the channel for about a second. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Can I do something to make it stop? Thanks again!

That could be a connection issue (i.e. loose wire). However, it happens to me when watching the Travel Channel in HD all the time, usually when they're almost done with a commercial break, because it "dips" back into "regular" mode due to the commercial, and then has to refresh to show the HD stuff again. If it happens on more than one channel, it's a problem; if it happens only on one channel, it's probably that cable network that's the issue.

Haven't noticed it on other channels yet. Wouldn't worry but the channel it does it on is ESPN. Kinda a biggie.

Could be something with your signal. HD signal uses more bandwidth than a regular signal.

I switched from LCD to plasma and couldn't be happier.
