25.5 hours is the longest I've been awake.

I did this last Friday. I woke up early for work, and ended up watching movies all night or whatever with no need to wake up any specific time on Saturday. What's the longest amount of time you've stayed up and why?

I was cutting throats and eating tears
Smiling in a ruined age

I'd say about a week or so.

Wow @ the fact that you were able to sleep.

Longest I've been up was about 50 hrs and by the 30th or so hr, I could not go to sleep at all(most people are like that). I had to lie in bed for a few hours just to be able to fall asleep. But when I did fall asleep... it was like heaven.

About 40 hours doing a disaster recovery test. For me after about 24 hours I hit a wall, then got my second wind at about 30.

It took a while to catch up. Maybe three nights since I can't sleep very long at one time.

72 hours. In guards we had a sleep depravation exercise we had to do with putting in a minefield and breaching it. (Doesn't sound like a good combination does it?) It's 48 hours straight being awake. Unfortunately for me, I also had a night driving course the night before. I guess it was probably more like 68 hours though because luckily we didn't have anything to do the morning before night driving so I went back to the tent and sleep after breakfast until about 10.

I wasn't trying to stay up I just couldn't sleep for those 2 days. Then I was watching TV after class on a friday and just passed out.

Over 70 hours, back in 94 or 95 I think it was. I was working as a medic then, and that was during the major Ice storm that hit North Mo. We spent that whole time going from accident to accident & medical call were people could't get out. Then during the great flood that hit the Missouri river we spent close to 50 hours up transporting patients out of N.H and elderly. Then got about 6 hours sleep and did it again.

The nice thing about those times is you have the adrenaline rush to keep you going

Around 40 hours. Up at 2am (on about 4 hours of sleep) to get some stuff done before flying from KC to Philadelphia... had an 8 hour layover in Philly, and spent the day wandering around. Didn't sleep at all on the ride to London. Got to London around 8-9am, and spent the day with a friend wandering around London. Got in around 1-2am, and it was the only time I've ever started falling asleep during a conversation. Slept about 12 hours that night.

The worst though was probably during one of the 80+ hour weeks last winter, when I got a combined ~12 hours of sleep across 3 days. It's one thing to simply not be able to sleep on a plane, and while that sucks, by the 3rd day trying to work I was having to look over stuff 3 times before making changes, and still made mistakes. I didn't feel all that tired (thanks, Red Bull), but my brain did not want to cooperate.

Around 60 hours while in Vegas.. Nonstop drinking and gambling.. Unfortunately not like the movie, no real shenanigans except for me trying to sleep with some Latina that spoke zero english..

Longest I have been asleep almost 40hours... This was back in HS, I was feeling sick came home and passed out around 2 or 3pm on a Tues.. Woke up around 8 or 9ish on Thurs, I literally thought it was Wednesday when I went to school and went to the wrong block classes.. Looking back I wonder why my parents never woke me up..

106 hours, no bullshit. Wed @ 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Might have been more. Let's just say I was experiencing cymbalta withrawal. I had only been on the stuff for maybe 5 days, realized that I couldn't afford it, and that it was seriously overmedicating my condition. No doctor would sedate me with so much as a valium, so I just buzzed for 5 days. Got a lot done, actually. Played a four hour gig the last four hours and people said I sounded great. Went home and crashed for 20 hours or so. Stayed up all night every night, and slept all day for a week after that until I could flip my schedule back to normal. I don't ever want to do it again, I was really depressed all day that Sunday, felt like shit in every way imaginable.

I stayed up for almost exactly 36 hours once. It was incredibly shitty. Worked 9 AM 10 PM, came back two hours later, worked from Midnight to about 4 PM. I went home and finally passed out at about 8 PM that night. Freaking fast food salaried manager job. Glad I left.

I know of a guy that stayed up for a week though. It was in the Navy and he was on meth. He went insane. Last I heard he was in a psychiatric hospital and was due to be discharged if/when they could get him sane enough. That was a bit over 20 years ago.

I'm guessing a couple days, in school I worked a night time job and it was nothing to be up 36 hours straight.

My senior year of high school I went to 2 grad nights in a row for different high schools. Disneyland and then Magic Mountain. Was up for at least 50 hours drug free. Unless you count cotton candy and soda.

Now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever stayed up longer than that. Drug free or not.

38 hours. My best friend and I decided to see how long we could stay awake when we were in the 8th grade. We started out a a church "lock-in" and then continued on through the next day. Talk about delirious...
