Kansas sophomore guard Tyshawn Taylor had a team-high 13 points and four assists, leading the U.S. men's U-19 team to a 76-69 victory over Lithuania on Wednesday morning in Auckland, New Zealand.
Taylor made three shots in the final four minutes to help Team USA hold on.
"I played with a kind of chip on my shoulder because I didn’t play so good yesterday," Taylor said, "so I just wanted to come out here and play a good game."
Taylor finished 6-for-13 from the floor with four assists, two turnovers and one steal in 22 minutes. He was 0-for-1 from the three-point line and 1-for-2 from the free-throw line.
The U.S. (6-0) will face Canada on Friday in the quarterfinals.

I think he's going to break out this season. KU's backcourt is just going to be super freak nasty.

This is going to be a fun year to be a KU fan. A legit shot at making the big 12 championship game in football and a legit shot to win the national championship in basketball.

He will be good off the bench I'm sure. I just see him more as a role player this season as a frosh. Hopefully he developes and can take over for Sherron after he leaves.

I think Taylor is going to be the most improved Hawk from last year. Like CoMo said, our backcourt is going to rock this year.

Hopefully sherron won't have to play 39 minutes a game.

More experience and more talented depth = less minutes for Sherron = a good thing.

This is going to be a great year. I just wish it was next month already so I could start watching football and before you know it,it's november and time for basketball. I hate mid april-july.

It wouldn't be so bad if KC would get a Major League baseball team.

I'm actually watching them right now. But baseball doesn't really get my blood flowing like football and basketball.
