View Full Version : Life Pissed! (Mr. Plow Version)

Mr. Plow

My wife is away for the evening, so I've got all my kids. Well, minus the oldest who is staying the night somewhere - so I've got my 4, 3, & nearly 2 year old all to myself.

They were getting restless, so I asked if they wanted to walk to the convenience store. It's only 5-6 blocks away and no major roads to crss, so the boys rode their bikes, and I pushed my daughter in her stroller.

On the way back to my house, we get into our neighborhood and my 3 year old takes off a little ahead of us on his bike. It's a really quiet neighborhood and any cars coming through there know there are lots of little kids.

So, as we get 1/2 a block from my house, my neighbors (whom I've had issues with in the past) 16/17 year old son comes through the neighborhood a little fast (maybe 30-35 mph). I'm 1/4 block behind my 3 year old and this mother fucker flies up behind him - gets less than 10 yards away from him in the street and fucking honks his horn. My 3 year old didn't see him coming and gets scared, falls off the bike - bike lands on him a bit - he screams and runs crying to the side of the road. At this point I am sprinting pushing my daughter to get to him and this fucking assholes sits in the middle of the road, waiting for my 3 year old to calm down to get his bike - which isn't even in his way. He tells my son to get his bike out of the middle of the road, which he does, and then proceeds to pull into his driveway and SPRINT inside.

This fucking bitch ass kid knew I was going to beat his ass and ran into his parents house without so much as turning around and saying he was sorry.

He fucking sat in his car watching my son cry and couldn't so much as just get out of the car, say he was sorry and help him up. Fucking shit I hate my crazy ass fucking neighbors and their fucking rabbits. I'm going to leave my dog out of the kennel on accident....he loves rabbits and surely he'll catch one of the 10 fucking cats they have.

Damnit I'm pissed. My wife is gonna be MEGA pissed when she gets home.

PS.....sorry for stealing your title Mic.

You may want to report that to your local law enforcement. A lot of towns are developing laws for harassing bicyclists due to a lot of people riding their bikes instead of driving.

Or I can just send the boar jizz!

While I understand what you are saying....

This is a quiet neighborhood. Lots of kids through out. No through streets. My kids watch for cars and get over when they come, he just didn't see it.

I have - and nobody else has - any issues with slowing down and going around any of the kids in the neighborhood.

The 16-year-old acted like a douche, which isn't too surprising given his age.

That said, I wouldn't trust a 3-year-old to watch for cars and get over. Not trying to be "that guy," Mr. Plow, but that's a risk that I wouldn't take.

I understand, trust me. I know he shouldn't have been in the middle of the street - he feels more comfortable there because he has moved to a "big bike". But, we see nearly no cars going down the street. We have done this exact thing 4 other times in the past 10 days and haven't seen a car on this street other than tonight. If I had thought he was in danger, he wouldn't have been there. This is semi small town KS.

Unfortunately the law is not on your side.

On the other hand you could press charges, but you should do it now. Its your word against his, if your child has wounds its pretty chargeable.

Mr Wizard says its time for a "citizens arrest" Child endangerment or wreckless driving.

Maybe you save a kids life down the road. Thats' karma that makes Mr Wizard comfortable with saying call the cops.

At least if a cop talks to him maybe he slows down from now on round kids.

I know when I was younger, and kids were screwing with my cousins, I was asked to "see about it" quite a few times....each situation required different things to solve the problem. I know when I was in college, a big, stupid bastard who was an 18 year old SR was picking on and whaling on most of the Jr High boys, including my youngest brother. One night, my other brother and I happend to see him in a parking lot. It didn't take as much as you'd think, and monday, he appologized to every table of boys he'd been giving a hard time and assured them it would never happen again.

I've been lucky that I had a couple of cousins who were/are school age who could take care of business if some punk kid was pulling some bullshit.

Karo syrup in the gas is also an option, but it doesn't sound like the car/driving is this kid's problem...it's attitude and the need to learn a life lesson about consequences for his actions.

I would have done something really bad to that driver. Really fucking bad. But it's you to blame at first Mr. Plow, why did you let your little kid ride away from you, in the middle of the road, even if he were close to you and in a quite neighborhood. That guy could have been drunk or didn't notice your angel and perhaps something awful would have happened.

Not proud to admit it but at this age, I was probably a little bit of a douchebag too. I don't think I was quite this bad though. I seriously doubt anything you say or do to this kid is going to make much difference if you do so aggresively. It may in fact serve to make it worse in the future.

Your best shot to really rectify this situation would be to try to talk to the kid in a calm fashion. Something to the effect of "Hey, you know in this neighborhood there are a lot of kids, so if you would, please lay off the gas and watch for kids playing". It might also help to get his name and tell him yours. It's a lot harder to act like an idiot when the neighbors KNOW you. You should get a little respect if you are decent about it. Being a prick (even if it is justified) will most likely make this kid ignore anything you say.

I'm sure the kid knows you weren't too pleased with his actions judging from the fact he bolted inside the house. I'm guessing you probably had the look of a serial killer by that time. Before you do anything too crazy, Just remember the outcome here. Nobody was seriously hurt. Try the talk first and if that doesn't work... then you can call in cousin Vinnie. :)

I can attest to this one. It doesn't apply to a 4 year old by any means, but it pisses me off to no end when kids old enough to know better just assume I'll get out of their way while they're in the middle of the street. I've had a hardline conversation on more than one occasion with kids who get pissed when my mirrors get within 18 inches of them at 30mph. I have no qualms teaching some lessons that parents seem unwilling to.

Kids who don't move for cars and just walk out into the street are just as bad and antagonize this problem. I'm 28 and I've seriously contemplated scaring the shit out of a kid for the 20 times he just stood there and stared at me like "I don't have to move"

Again, I know I am partially in the wrong by allowing him to ride in the street. How many bikers do you see in the street on a daily basis though? I know I see tons. I slow down and go around them.

But, my son was less than 1 1/2 HOUSES away from my driveway. This asshole kid was 1/2 house away from his driveway. Give him 15 seconds and he would have been out of his way and there wouldn't haven't been any issue.

OR

When he fell over, if he had gotten out of the car, helped him up or just said "I'm sorry" it wouldn't have been a big deal.

It's called being nice to people or just showing them some courtesy. He wasn't hurting anyone. He rides in the middle because the slant of the street closer to the curb will cause him to fall over sometimes.

I'll take blame for letting him ride in the street, but what this kid did to him was bullshit.

It's called being nice to people or just showing them some courtesy. He wasn't hurting anyone. He rides in the middle because the slant of the street closer to the curb will cause him to fall over sometimes.

I'll take blame for letting him ride in the street, but what this kid did to him was bullshit.

Your kid is way too young to be at fault here dude. This kid was being a punk.

If you can't use your horn to warn a 3 year old kid playing in the street, what the fuck is a horn for?

I LAWLED.

Perhaps using Plow Jr would be the wrong bait, but Judging from this story, I bet old Plow could bait Bo Duke with a leaf pile loaded with goodies.

Good. I'm glad my failure at humor wasn't completely fail.

He was less than 10 yards behind him, he was almost stopped, he could have stuck his head out of the freakin' open window and said "Watch out buddy...car coming."

Hell, the kid drove past me, my son and my daughter and he heard me screaming at my 3 year old that there was a car coming.

Reminds me of the time some asshole let their dog off the leash and I ran over it. I put a note on the guys door "sorry about your dog, we will talk about the damage to my car later" He was all pissed off I got my bumper fixed and stuff, but I don't know why he was pissed at me, he was in the wrong.

What? are you serious? You dont honk at anyone on a bike unless your trying to injure them because that's what happens, they get frightened and fall over.

LMAO I am quite sure that is not in any insurance adjuster class I have ever taken, in fact not using your horn may show you were being negligent.

Maybe he was meaning Mecca as in

Main Entry: mecca
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: center, goal
Synonyms: aim, capital, destination, focal point, focus, heart, hub, nerve center, objective, purpose

Main Entry: mec·ca
Pronunciation: \ˈme-kə\
Function: noun
Usage: often capitalized
Etymology: Mecca, Saudi Arabia, a destination of pilgrims in the Islamic world
Date: 1843
: a place regarded as a center for a specified group, activity, or interest <a mecca for shoppers>

After thinking about it.....most likely not :)
