I like how no one thinks the city did anything wrong in leaving an open manhole with no warnings. Granted the girl should have been paying attention but both parties are at fault IMHO. If it had been a kid or old person, should "those dumb bitches watch where they're going" too? Just because the girl who fell in was texting doesn't make the city's actions any more or less negligient (sp?)

I just don't have any sympathy for people that think they can walk and drive without looking at where they are going. Texting needs to be abolished. I have seen these texters in action and I personally don't think an orange cone would have made much difference.

Yes, the men working should have marked it off, but if you are too ****ing stupid to watch where you're going, then no one is to blame but your own ****ing self.

An open manhole cover isn't hard to see.

Yes, a responsible judge is going to award her some damages, but just once I'd like to see a responsible judge hold stupid people responsible for their own ****ing stupidity.

Well you do realize that hands free or not makes absolutely ZERO difference in the accident rate of people using cell phones.

Statically speaking, if the government wants to permit people drive with hands free cell phones they should also permit people to drink and drive. The impairment is similar.

Reminds me of a couple weeks ago when I dumped my smoldering coals out at the K. We were all sitting around them drinking and two people came along and stepped right in them. One lady got a coal stuck between her toes and got burned pretty good. I was also sitting in the parking lot at Price Chopper a few months back while my girlfriend ran inside to grab a couple things. Some decrepit old woman riding in her Rascal stopped, leaned over and vomited all over the ground. No less than 2 minutes later this lady just walking without a clue stepped right in it.

People are so scatterbrained and distracted by the festering bullshit brewing in their brains it doesn't matter if they're on a cell phone or not.
