I'm trying to get my multiple monitors set up in a simple "clone" mode. I'm currently using my laptop and have my flat screen panel set up next to it. I can get it to work using the "extended desktop" method, but when I unclick the "extend" box, it just shuts off. I want the two screens to display the same thing. My mom is sitting next to me and recovering from surgery and just wants to be able to see the stuff I'm working on while I babysit her. :)

I know on many HP laptops, (among others, I think) Fn-F4 is the monitor toggle. Try that a couple of times.

there may be an icon in the system tray that has a right-click option for "notebook + monitor" clone
