What are some places you and your family or friends enjoy going to in the KC area? Truman Sports Complex, Sprint Center, WOF/OOF, Ameristar Casino, certain malls in KC, The Legends, CommunityAmerica Ballpark, etc.

I was just curious to know what some of the top venues where in the KC metro area.

I'm taking someone to the airport tomorrow morning. Planning on stopping by the Legends to eat. Can anyone tell me what they have there for eating options on a sunday morning?

Besides your usual IHOP and McDonalds there is a steak place across from T Rex that I THINK does a breakfast thing. But again I'm saying I THINK so.

Yeah I was surprised no one said that or KC Live. I thought every single person here would have said that.

I hear the Flying Saucer is pretty fun, and I have an invite to go to Mosaic next month. Any reviews on either of those places?

As for the question - Legends, Zona Rosa, Ameristar, Schlitterbahn (haven't been, but I'm sure I'll be hooked once I go), The movie theater in Seville Square on the Plaza (Cinemark, I think. Great VIP rooms).....like to golf at various courses - Shoal Creek, Cardinal Hill, Tiffany Greens...

I go to the Flying Saucer about once a week. A place with 200 + craft beers is kind of my thing. I don't mess with the clubs in KC Live or anything.

Yeah, checked out the FS website. Outstanding beer selection. I can't really explain why I haven't been there yet, and I'm actually somewhat angry with myself for NOT having gone there yet.

Next month, I'm hitting a couple of concerts at Sprint Center, and I will make it a point to try as many beers as possible at FS before said concerts.

I'm a big Harrah's fan more than anything else. I know it's not as big as Ameristar but I think that is why I like the atmosphere. As for golf courses, I'd go with Ironhorse in Leawood. It is dirt cheap for an A+ course.

What's with all the chinese people at Harrahs? All these little kids and the old ladies yelling back and forth "Howayawayawa"

We had a flying saucer in Fort Worth....was an awesome place. Haven't been to the one here. My favorite bar, by far in KC, is Charlie Hoopers. Along with that Brookside is a fun little local shop sort of area.
My other fave places would be...nevermind...they all involve adult beverages. Although I do like Worlds of Fun once in a while.

The Steamboat Arabia museum (http://www.1856.com/) is a really cool, one of a kind place that's worth a visit. It's like a time capsule from the westward expansion going on in 1856.

Cool, I'll have to check that course out sometime.

And Harrah's is nice, but a bit small. I'm a blackjack guy when I go to the casinos, and it's almost impossible to find an open seat there at a table I like to play (21+3). But in fairness, I've only been there a few times.

I like to have a burger and beer at Fred P. Otts in Westport, although the last time I was there the bartender chick was in a bitchy mood.

See something at the Uptown Theatre.

I take my kids to the Overland Park Arboretum quite a bit. It's a nice place to take kids for a walk.
