How important is your reputation to you?
I find myself checking my rep page often to make sure I haven't offended or pissed off anyone, (especially some of our more veteran posters).

One poster, (we all know who) used it as a communication tool to ensure us about our mother's welfare.

On another note:
I see that on some occasions, giving bad rep doesn't really assist with some of our more "rambunctious" n00b's but it does with others and they turn into quality posters.

Anyway, how important is the Rep function on this site?

I use it to let people know that I am on a rival site but not to start shit. I have never given neg rep to anyone that I recall as I guess if I have something to say against someone I say it in a post. I often give positive rep when someone makes me chuckle or says something I agree with.

Again, I dunno. I could look, but I'm too lazy. There's no set limit on the minimum and maximum though. I think there's probably about 20 levels right now, though the first 10 or so are rarely seen since one pop from a long-time user will put someone well over those.
