Several months ago I shared our new venture with you. We've recently updated our website and are proud of what we've achieved in one year of ownership of this community paper.

Please check out the site when you get a chance. We'll welcome feedback from professionals and wannabes alike.

If you know anybody in the Lee's Summit area, we'd like to have them introduced to what we're doing here so send them a link please.

Of particular note is the story of a local woman donating a kidney to her best friend Tuesday morning.

Congrats!

I donated a kidney to TinyE but he threw it out the window into his swimming pool.

TinyE isn't a completely immature moron but I wish he were. I need more company in my club.

Nah - there's something to be said for being a completely immature moron. It's a badge of distinction. Some of the n00bs have a whole different category of moron.

I really dig the site. Nicely laid out and easy to follow.

The only thing I disliked was the banner. The logo crammed in one corner with a border bothered me aesthetically. Lots of empty space to the right of it.

That's a small thing though.

Well done. :thumb:

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the banner, especially the patience graphic. Hopefully we'll sell that space soon and get an attractive ad there.

Lee's Summit is the highest point on the railroad between KC and St. Louis. They are supposed to depict mountains, according to our graphics design strategist, which is my wife. Do you want to argue with her? She'd slap the grin right of your pretty face.

Very nice article Phil. Ronda's parents have been friends with my parents for many years. Me and my siblings would stay at their house when my parents went skiing in Colorado and her dad once flew us to Nebraska in a small private plane to visit our grandparents.

I'll be saying a prayer for her and Heidi's successful surgery and recovery.

Nice looking site. Good flow, nice color scheme. Singular problem: no direct link to the Chiefs Planet - Guess her Muff thread.

I've been getting to know her for the past year or so. She's a pretty amazing woman. Can you imagine? I'm not sure what I'd do in a similar predicament. I'd probably never get tested in the first place.

Thanks. Been a year. It's pretty intense work. We're learning the ropes. Baptism by fire. But our readers love what we do so we'll keep going.

The layout of your site is pretty boss compared to what it was when you first showed it off.

Also free advertising space is awesome.

When all else fails, throw up an Edgewood Construction ad.

Heh. Currently, it is a non-profit, non-salary labor of love. But we're working towards making it profitable. If we didn't have high hopes for it, we wouldn't spend this much time building it. We're very passionate about our community and this is a vehicle that is generating many opportunities to network and interact with people in the community. Based on what you know of my community building abilities here, you know this is right up my alley. I love doing it. Hopefully I'll be able to turn over my construction business to a GM one day and do this full-time.

The "free" ads is essentially my compensation. It works.
