The Chiefs have waived QB Ingle Martin. He was the team's No. 4 QB. That leaves Matt Cassel, Tyler Thigpen and Brodie Croyle.

Aug 5 2009 | 8:22:44 pm
Raiders owner Al Davis is in the house again. So are Mark Davis, his son, and Raiders chief executive Amy Trask, as well as ex-Raiders great Steve Wisniewski.

Aug 5 2009 | 7:42:18 pm
At the end of afternoon practice, the Chiefs' No. 1 offense had three plays to score from the 10-yard line. On the second play, CB Brandon Flowers intercepted a pass by QB Matt Cassel in the end zone.

Aug 5 2009 | 7:04:33 pm
The Chiefs are working OLB Andy Studebaker as a long snapper. The only snapper on the roster is rookie Tanner Purdum.

Aug 5 2009 | 6:57:21 pm
In a live punt drill, Chiefs rookie WR Quinten Lawrence continued to have problems catching the ball. He fumbled two, including one recovered by the punt team.

Aug 5 2009 | 6:35:23 pm
Chiefs No. 1 draft choice DE Tyson Jackson remains unsigned. Jackson has now missed eight practices. Club management refuses to discuss the negotiations.

This is a bad thing. The further Al Davis is from the Raiders, the better the Raiders are. He needs to get back to his rat nest as soon as humanly possible.

Say what you want about this old senile bastard, but obviously he still has a sense of rivalry and the determination to beat KC. That's a passion that seems to have been lost over the years among the Chiefs staff and players.

Herm is the only one that really diluted that rivalry, and to be honest, he is a Raider at heart. Marty and DV dominated them.

And I quote;

"I think it's safe to say that the Broncos have supplanted the Raiders as the Chiefs main rival".

I agree.

Even when KC sucked, the Oakland vs KC game was always broadcasted. Now, nobody seems to care except the diehard fans and Al Davis

I agree, but I get just as much joy when the San Diego Sparklers lose too. I know they're not even in the rival discussion, but they annoy me as much as any team.

As well as they've done in this decade, I still can't bring myself to take them seriously or muster the true, blackened hatred required to do so.

True.

I seem to have lost that "hating anything black & silver" with every ounce of my existence feeling.

I'm just glad we finally ridded our coaching staff (Goonthur)of any of their leftovers. God, that used to piss me off.

During one of the offseason press conferences or Q&A's Haley brought up the fact he hates the Raiders. I can't wait til week 2 to see how that might translate onto the field.

Huh? I don't like Herm but why would you say he is a Raider at heart? I thought his playing days were with the Eagles and his coaching started with the Chiefs (secondary early 90s?).

He said he grew up in Oakland or LA or something and he grew up around Raiders fans and liked them. :#

I have just had an about-face.

I love Al Davis. He is the greatest guy ever.

You should all stop picking on him.

The fact that he just gave Derrick Burgess to the Pats has nothing to do with it.

Carry on.
