Police Tase 'Fan' At Oakland A's Game For Belligerent Behavior
First Posted: 08- 6-09 09:31 AM | Updated: 08- 6-09 10:03 AM

Via LiveLeak comes this raw video of a baseball fan getting tased by police at an Oakland A's game. According to the poster, the man became intoxicated after drinking several small bottles of vodka, and while he wasn't threatening, his behavior was extremely loud and obnoxious.

A security guard eventually summons the police, and the man continues his belligerent behavior, at one point thumbing his nose at the officers. Soon after they break out the tasers.

Do you think the tasing was justified? Discuss in the comments.

I normally defend the police in these type of situations, but that was uncalled for and hopefully is not that department's normal procedure. The first two cops about had him cuffed and the situation was under control. Douche move by cop 3 if you ask me.

It looks like they were telling him to leave. He should have gotten up and left. Cops love a workout.

that's how it looked to me too...one cop patting him on the back. from where the clip was taken, it looks like they gave the drunk bastard every chance to get up and leave.

I'm old enough to remember the wooden sticks they used to carry around.

You mean the same sticks that Rodney King got to know up-close-and-personal?

Screw him...

Maybe next time he'll shut the fuck up and watch the game.

Goddamned morons.
I was at a Giants Dodgers game earlier this year. Stadium was packed and I saw this crap happen a few times. No one was tasered but there were some fans being escorted off the property yelling and screaming.

I just don't feel sympathy for morons. I can usually behave myself when I'm drunk and in public. Personally, I would prefer to see a beat down with a night stick, but that's just me.

Got a kick out of the Deadspin write up on this...

At most ballgames, you're lucky if one interesting thing happens in your section. A foul ball, a violent arrest, dudes falling down stairs? Well, some lucky A's fans saw it all in the span of about 30 seconds.

Of course, on super lucky fan got it all on tape. This was allegedly shot at the A's-Rangers game at the Coliseum last night, and here's the play-by-play for those of you who are tube-blocked at work. It begins with Oakland police trying to remove some old belligerent man from his lower-deck seats. He didn't immediately get up and run for the exists when they told him to go, so naturally, they tased him. (Yay, for reasonable crowd control!)

Then another concerned citizen, camera phone at the ready, comes charging up to document the scene. But before he can lend a hand to the police brutality, an usher boxes him out like Charles Barkley grabbing the last seat at a $5 blackjack table. That dude goes a-tumblin' back down to the box seats. And if all that excitement wasn't enough, just seconds later a foul ball comes flying directly at the combatants, who call a truce just long enough to grab a souvenir. Quite a half-inning, huh?

Is the obnoxious label even necessary. If he's an Oakland fan it's pretty much a given that he's a huge douche.

The first shock got him squirming up off the seat. No need for the 2nd.
