i don't think I read to much into the first depth chart. There seems to be a lot of motivation written into it.

Bowe listed as #3 after continued drops and mental errors...hopefully, that will kick him in the arse a bit. I watched Haley push Fitz, Breaston and Bolden in AZ and he can get the best out of WRs...

I've been looking for some sort of depth chart to hang up so I can better keep track of the team. Thanks, this should help for a while.

Are you all excited about the upcoming season? We at Carolina are. Who knows how this year will be, but it should be exciting. Your depth at most positions is greater than ours. As you all know, we lost Makea within the first hour of training camp. I wish you all well this year.

Which begs the question: Why take Colin Brown before Herman Johnson?

The Chiefs either gotta cut Brown or Richardson. Honestly I don't know why teams draft guys who play in the spread offense.

Well, it won't be Brown because they just spent a 5th on him and I highly doubt they cut the only true right tackle on the roster.

I don't think any team has ever kept every player they drafted, Brown also doesn't come close to Richardson in terms of talent. There is no possible way Brown beats out Barry.

I think that Richardson and Taylor make the roster as depth as the tackles, Ghaciac as the backup center and guard, with Brown settling in as the other guard.

Brown has real potential to play guard.

He just isn't a RT.

Is that why they moved their "pure RT" to RG?

Brown's a guard. Richardson's tackle.

I think it is also interesting that Battle is ahead of Charles on this depth chart. Is that due to wanting to use him more for kick returns and they want him fresher or is it due to fumblitis which he had a bad case of at Texas?

He's pure shit much like Richardson a year before neither will be a contributer to this team and eventually released.

Yes, I do.

If there are any injuries during the season, they can find just about any scrub on the scrap heap to fill a role as (in)competently as Smith.

Oh for the love of christ, Richardson started 40 some games for Clemson at LT, you don't do that without some talent.

I disagree.

As I've stated many times in the past year, Richardson has the ideal size to be a dominating right tackle. The only thing he's been lacking is motivation.

I don't know if that's the case anymore, considering that he passed the conditioning test, while Goff, Waters and ScIntosh did not.

Additionally, I'm not ready to proclaim that Colin Brown is a bust. He appears to be much more suited for right guard and by all accounts, he's a bright guy. If he can improve his footwork and work on his leverage (the guy is 6'7), he may become a solid starter at right guard.

But in either case, it's far too early to be proclaiming either one of these guys as busts.

First off... This..

And also, this is like the first full depth chart released. These things have very little bearing to the final product. In fact, at one point, I though maybe it was just alphabetical, and then maybe alphabetical by "tier".

Means nothing, except perhaps motivation for some players.

I really hope this is not the case come mid-September. I liked Croyle, but I want my backup QB to be able to take a hit and get back up.

Meh he was a 5th round pick so is Brown. Taylor was a 5th or 6th too. The reality is most 5th and 6th round picks don't make it in the league so I don't really see how any of these guys are relevant. If you can't beat out Sackintoish you really suck.

Richardson also was projected as a first round pick because of his talent but his head got in the way of that... Brown wasn't even projected to be drafted...

what? He's saying Clemson is the same caliber as an SEC school, even though they play in the ACC. And in order to start at a high caliber program(like Clemson, or any in the SEC) you must possess some sort of good skill set and be considered a legitimate NFL prospect.

Wrong.

5th and 6th rounders better make your squad or you've just fucked yourself in the draft.

Why do you think the Chiefs haven't had any depth or good special teams in the last decade?

Poor drafts from top to bottom.

Good squads draft athletes and players that can contribute as backups and on special teams, immediately. They won't just "cut" a guy because he can't beat out an incumbent starter one week into training camp. Most young players need "seasoning". Hell, even Tim Grunhard sat on the bench his first season and he was a second rounder.

Furthermore, there's no freakin' reason to be spending high draft choices on right tackles and guards. There are starting guards all across the NFL that weren't even drafted (Brian Waters is a prime example).

So don't be so quick to dismiss a player because he was a late rounder.

Not many guys with zero talent are projected to be first round picks. Its pretty normal for a guy with zero starting experience to not beat out guys with years of starting experience... really

5th and 6th rounders better make your squad or you've just ****ed yourself in the draft.

Hey, I'm jumpin' on board the Dane Train.. People keep pointing at our first round (glamour) picks, but the real problem is the later drafts. These guys have been working out. For each DJ ( who is still starting ) there is the Craphonso and Maxey and Svitek. if the last 5-6 first rounders are still productive, that is great. it is the players picked in the next six rounds that really fleshes out the draft.
