It's always a pain in the ass when something like this comes along. It's always one guy that fucks it up for 911 and the image portrayed with it. Being that guy was a Srgt. and in service for the past 20 years he should know at the end of the day that when someone on 911 is yelling and cursing at you...it's not personal and has nothing to do with you. And if it is personal, it's generally because of something you did to not help that person understand that you were going to help them.

And there are some days where that's hard to remember I understand. But that's part of your job.

I like the part where he locks her up for a charge that doesn't even exist in law. I guess after 20 years as a cop they think they can get away with bullshit like this.

There's also something that bothers me about the situation. This seems like an example of someone that wasn't trained to do that job. Being he's a Sergent what the hell was he doing answering that line?

I'm betting he was filling in for someone for a bit, had a non emergency call, 911 rings, he doesn't put the non emergency call on hold, then answers the 2nd time the 911 call came in. Took the attitude like a cop would take attitude then figured...oh....shit....I better send a medic.....

I'm betting that town gets more 911 operators and one less Sergent.

So this happened in Michigan. A shit stain of a state and specifically in Detriot, a shit stain of a city. Thye probably don't have th money to properly train anyone and exactly why this Sgt McFarland answered the call to begin with.

I was watching one about some police dispatchers not sending help to officers in trouble because they don't like cops on CNN the other day. Might be time to start paying better and attract a more competent worker for these kinds of things.

Or throw them in jail. I like option number 2.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If you saw it all the way through the end, the guy had quite the reputable history with the department. Before this single event, he was the "perfect" cop. You would think he'd handle this situation with a bit more tact, but instead, handled it as though he had pulled her over in her car or something and didn't realize that this was an actual emergency until it was too late.

If true, it's a disgrace.

The Chief must be a fucking idiot.

"Well boss, other than the sheer panic in her voice, and the fact that the first thing she did was ask for an ambulance, I thought it was a prank."

"Well, at least no one died. Get back to work."

Go work 8 hours in a 911 call center, then tell me it's just answering the phone.

I'm not saying it's "just answering the phone", I'm saying that you'd have to be retarded to think that what he did was an appropriate response with or without training.

Irony of ironys - his EM is listed on the 'how to file a complaint' page.

And yes, he is clearly an incredible prick.

The cop doesn't ask what's wrong, doesn't really give her a chance to, keeps hanging up on her, She's pissed to begin with because she couldn't get through or it was taking longer than expected to get someone on the line, the clock is ticking in her mind, making the situation worse. All she cares about is getting her dad some medical help, she's freaking out. Really her reaction is fairly common in that situation. Hell, I yelled and cussed at everyday at work because I won't pay someone an extra $500. All that officer cared about was her cussing at him. He's probably thinking......well I'm a police officer with a badge, been one for many years, I don't have to take this kinda language from some girl.

This asshole should be fired, and may horrible karma awaits this piece of shit.

Btw, she's pretty hot.
