Haley

I am a very selfless, aren't I?

RealSNR

And yes, the only difference is Herm. Herm would retain his coaching staff minus those guys like Gunther and Curl who left for other teams. Pioli is still the GM. Herm may have drafted differently, but that's something you're going to have to speculate yourself.

Hell, where I live 1000 dollars is still a lot of money, but for the years of upcoming happiness with Haley at the helm, I think I would give up the money.

Give me the money.

Life is good whether the Chiefs are or not.

I'd spend the thousand bucks on booze just so I could get through the season. Indications are that Haley will be a much healthier alternative.

I voted for Haley, but it really depends on how long we're talking. I'm making the assumption that we're talking about Herm being around for at least a few years. If I can be pretty sure Herm would be gone in a year anyway, I'd probably go for the cash.

Katipan

I'll sell my vote for Haley for $2000

I'll take the money as long as we still have Pioli.

Herm would have gotten himself fired after this year anyway.

Hopefully I won't be wanting to amend my answer in a couple of years, though. :grr:

I get a $1000, Herm can be coach 1 more year. Pioli can chose between Shanahan, Cowher or Jeff Fisher(axed when Collins goes down).

This poll is essentially comparing happiness to money. I like it.That was my intention. The trick was finding the right amount that would make things difficult. I reasoned it out as "Would people really pay more than $1000 to get good football out of their team?"

After looking at the results so far, I maybe should have increased the dollar amont a little bit. But either way, this is a great compliment coming from you.

Hell, I'll take Herm and lay the grand.

Herm gets lucky and goes 6-10 and he could be around for another year, at least.

I don't know about the drafting differently though. Pioli might have told Herm to STFU, he was taking whoever he wanted.

RealSNR
08-13-2009, 07:09 AM
I sure do see a lot of Herm responses posted, but according to the votes, everybody would give up the happiness, no matter how temporary.

It's difficult to guage. It'd be interesting to ask this question according to income bracket to weed out people who value the $1000 way more than others. Then it'd be interesting to ask a seperate question and then change the dollar amount offered with Herm to match a higher income bracket.

Either way, this is a great thread if I do say so myself. I better stop patting myself on the back though. I might break my arm.

My take exactly. For the first time in my adult life, I have exactly ZERO dollars to my name. Been unemployed for a month now and my previous job was a "cash" paying job, so I don't believe I qualify for unemployment. That $1000.00 would help a ton right now.

$1000 must be a lot more money in the midwest than it is where I live. That grand would be gone in a matter of minutes, or maybe days, and I'd still be stuck with wonderfuck Herm. Nah, make it 10 large and I may be persuaded to take my chances, but 1k ain't gonna cut it. It's not THAT much money.

Well, maybe I'd change my mind and kick that $1000 to someone unemployed like mcan. Good luck buddy, I know that's a rough situation.

KC Jones

I would much rather have Haley than Herm and it would normally be worth $1000 out of my pocket to have fired Herm. That said, we just built up a bit of debt - which I hate doing. So in this immediate instance I'd take the $1000. A few months from now when I'm back to no debt other than mortgage - no deal, can Herm.

thanks. Got the resume floating around the KC area and hoping to get something soon. But in the meantime... Bust.

What's ironic is that, even with NO money at all to my name, $1,000 is pretty much the minimum I'd take for Herm to be back. :)

Sorry $1000 is a lot of money. Ask me again after I see how this team performs under Haley. I'm guessing I would still have Gonzalez to cheer for if Herm was still coach also.

I know first hand how rough it is out there. I have a quality resume, lots of experience in my field, and a history of being contacted when I submit said resume. I've actually been shopping it around because I'm underpaid in my current position. I'm getting no responses at all. None. And it's mind boggling because I've never experienced anything like it before. Usually, if I interview, I'm hired. That's simply not the case right now. And that by itself tells me that it is fucking ROUGH out there. Sincerely, good luck. Hopefully something comes up quickly.
