Titans waive injured wideout Chris Davis
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 24, 2009 6:16 PM ET
Titans wide receiver Chris Davis has had a rough couple of weeks.
The 2007 fourth-round pick was enjoying a good training camp and appeared to be headed toward a job on returns for the Titans. Then he hurt his hamstring after the Hall of Fame game and was arrested for a DUI early Friday.
Now he's no longer a member of the organization after the Titans waived/injured him Monday.
Coach Jeff Fisher said he was "extremely disappointed" in Davis after the arrest, and his injury gave the Titans an easy way to cut ties with him.
Davis' agent Dave Butz says he's already heard from one team who is interested. "We wish things would have ended differently there, but he's going to build off of what he has accomplished and wants to help a team," Butz said.
Davis caught seven passes for 69 yards in two seasons.
