11:41:32 am Just before practice was moved inside, Chiefs defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast yanked S Bernard Pollard from a drill. Pollard was upset and yelled at Pendergast. He then made a plea to coach Todd Haley, who eventually waved him away.

You can really tell a difference between players from the old regimes and the new one, can't you?

It is hard to judge from here. As long as the players feel like he is firm but fair, then I am happy. If the players feel like he is d!cking them over... then it will eventually become a problem.

I don't remember seeing Morgan get any significant playing time. All I know is that Pollard is a below average NFL safety.

Wow, a safety too slow to make exchanges with lower levels of coverage? Can't keep up with receivers? Poor instincts in pass coverage?

Sounds just like Pollard.

morgan tried to bait tarvares into a pick. except when he did throw the ball, morgan was too far off the guy to make the play. pollard wouldve just stayed in a zone, let him catch the ball and knock his brains out. and besides. morgan was playing fs on that play. pages position.

Pollard would have let the receiver get away from him, them missed the tackle (if he even had enough speed to recover) and he would have gone for a TD

My point is, you reference one bad play Morgan made in a preseason game. We have two full seasons of Pollard being a below average NFL starter to judge him by.

Call me "insane", fine.

Like most players, I'm not going to judge Pollard. New coaches, new defense. We don't know if the guy's good or bad until we see how he functions under a better defensive scheme.

Pretty shitty job to be a safety for a defense that was completely incapable of rushing the passer.

Sucks at tackling, sucks at coverage.

The only thing he's ever actually done well is rush the punter during his rookie year. And once teams started looking for him, he ceased to be effective at that.

For a 2nd round pick going into his fourth year, it's safe to conclude that he sucks and he's a special teamer at best.

I've said it before and I will say it again...Chiefs fans always think our safeties are garbage. I can't remember the last time I heard a good thing about KC safeties be it Jerome Woods, Greg Wesley, Bernard Pollard, Jerrod Page, Shaunard Harts, Sammy Knight, Jon McGraw, etc...the list goes on and on.

The least of our worries are at the safety position...

Blocked punt for a TD against Jax last game of the year, his rookie season. Allowed us to take advantage of Denver not being able to beat SF at home and back into the playoffs. Outside of that? He was a starter on a team that won 6 games in 2 yrs.
