once owned a farm and produced passable wine.

aside from that aside, corandval, aturnis, and 810 just reported he's been released. we're not sure if it's from federal 'pound me in the ass' prison or from a bet. possibly from the team. details coming.

Unless he was being a problem in the lockeroom, I can't understand this. He had a great season in 2007. He was pretty good last year. I just can't see him not being one of the best defensive linemen on this team.

i wonder who the 4th DE will be, Dorsey, Magee, Jackson and ?

A "great season"? "Pretty good"? Wow.

Yeah, his first season was a large reason that Jared Allen made his first pro bowl. Not saying that Allen didn't deserve it, just that Boone took some of the pressure off of him.

I know that will stir it up in here, but it is the truth. They actually had to pay attention to Boone.

Heck, even Jared Allen said so.

Probably Wallace Gilberry. They seem to like him.

I don't like Gilberry based on name alone

corandval

Gilberry is kinda small for 3-4 DE

Pioli was concerned that his great play would detract from the glory that is Tamba Hali.

This is going to sound conceited, but I honestly didn't expect many people in here to notice.

He was playing underweight last year and was out of position at 4-3 DE.

He still played pretty well. Not like he played in 2007, but then again, he didn't have much help.

I am not surprised that he isn't starting. He is on the other side of 30, he is playing a new position....

But, I can't see him being worse than anything else that we are keeping.

When a team's defense is 31st in rush yards per attempt, 30th in rush yards, 29th in rush TDs and registers 10 sacks on the season, no one played well.

Last year, he got lazy in the second half of the season, and basically quit on the team in the last two or three games of the year. You can go back and watch his play in November and December. He was mailing it in, and was part of the ten sacks all year problem.
This is another message being sent to the rest of the D Linemen. Be good or be gone.

I think this is actually a good move. If we're going to suck and lose again this year, might as well let the youngsters get all the snaps, and the experience.

I understand the point.... He didn't play nearly as well last year, but he was underweight and I felt like he was flipped inside and outside too much.

Plus, I feel like a big part of the problem last year was the coaching problems with Gunther and Herm.

That's a good point about quitting last year.... but I thought he had an injury.

As far as this year.... I can see him being fourth or fifth.... but not cut all together.

If by great season you mean very inconsistent, then yes, I agree.
